Same place. Different time.

Chances are, someone in time, was standing exactly where you are standing right now. Or sitting.

Maybe not in the same chair, in the same house.

But once upon a time… they stood…. on that same exact spot.

Perhaps there existed a different structure… a cabin…. a hut.

You see. I think it is pretty neat how it happens. Throughout history, people roll in and out of time. But we humans all have one thing in common.. We sure do. And that is….. we have ALL been here on earth. Yep…. we have, throughout all of time, shared the same exact ground, the oceans, the sky, air and water.

I like to think about this. Sometimes it gives me the shivers. The Ancient. Right here….. where The Today is…. now.

Who was here….. where we are standing now? Well, in North America… for example…. about 1,000 AD… here is who:

East of the Mississippi it was the Late Eastern Woodland cultures, ca. 200–800 AD. West of the Mississippi you would find what they call the Archaic cultures, ca. 7000 B.C.–1800 A.D. Those folks were around for a long, long time…..

And in the Southwest, you might meet Pre-Puebloan cultures, ca. 1000 B.C.–700 A.D.

What did they do? Well…. the populations were growing. Prior to this time, people “wandered” the land more. During this period… we’ll….. folks decided to start planting their feet.

Not only did they plant their feet, they started to have more specialized lifestyles. Farming really started to get important during this period.

It started to become a more settled place, with specific lifestyles and cultures evolving. A long time ago… but in a place not so far away.

All of us with same ultimate human nature.  To live life.  To understand our existence.  All of us on a road to nowhere.  On a road to everywhere.

Everything happens to everybody sooner or later if there is time enough.  – George Bernard Shaw
