Here is a little secret about me. (Well. Not for long….)
I have favorite words. For all sorts of different reasons.
Some words, I like, because of what they mean. Love. Compassion. Wholeness. Light. Goodness. Cheeseburger. You get the idea.
But SOME words… I like for no good reason. Maybe it is the way they sound, or how they look. I don’t know.
For instance….. Wobbly. Gumption. Lurk. Slumpy.
And another comes to mind. Glitch.
Last night, I was very familiar with GLITCH. It appears I hit one. What exactly does that mean? Well, if you listen to Mr. Webster….
Glitch is a noun…. which means a sudden, usually temporary malfunction or irregularity of equipment. It also means an unexpected setback in a plan.
Personally…. I think he nailed the definition.
And, as luck would have it… yesterday my brain, heart, and soul felt like they were experiencing a temporary malfunction. It is sort of like when your computer gets hung up… and you see the spinning hourglass (or in the case of Mac users… the spinning beach ball.)
Relentlessly…. my hourglass and beach ball, BOTH, were in a spin. And for no apparent reason.
When we hit a wall, and there IS a good reason for it….. we can at least give it a “name” or a “meaning”…. But. When there is no evident source, or cause…. it is just hard to figure. Plain old hard to figure.
Which brings to mind another word I like. Monkeywrench.
It definitely think the ambiguous Monkeywrench caused the glitch.
The best part of all of this? People. Today. Which brings to mind the other words…. Love. Compassion. Wholeness. Light. Goodness.
And of course… Cheeseburger.
