When The Cat Needs a Time OUT…. (please don’t call PETA, as she deserved it).
It all started as a good idea….
You see, today is the 13 Puppies (Dashe, Roscoe, Albert, Calvin, Joey, Milo, Jack, Tank, Eleanor, Dottie, Maude, Claire and Rudy.) Birthday… they are 5 years old, if you can believe it. So, I thought it would be neat-o peat-o to bake a bunch of homemade dog cookies and ship them out. Chicken flavor. (Did you know Martha Stewart has recipes for chicken dog biscuits on her website? I think she learned to make these in prison… because you shape them like little license plates…. anyWAY…..) So I make these cookies, right? Left them out on the counter to cool. The TALL kitchen counter. And then I walked to the post office to buy stamps for the puppy birthday cards.
When I got home, there is Winnie, ON TOP of the kitchen counter. She’s snarfing down little license plates like all get-out. And, she is in KA-HOOTS with Max and France. She had knocked about a half dozen cookies on the floor for those two!!! One big happy biscuit-munching-melee. (They all sounded a little bit like the guy in Slingblade eating his french fried potaters and mustard… mmmmmm hmmmmmmm.) Needless to say, Miss Winslow needed a BIG TIME OUT. Which is what you are seeing here. Off to the corner she went, I’ll tell you.
As for Momma Frances, well……since she birthed those 13 puppies so honorably, I decided she was deserving of a few cookies. And Auntie Max was a pretty good midwife when it all happened…. so she got off the hook too. But Winnie was already in hot water, after the squirrel incident earlier in the day, the fight with Felix, the shredded toilet paper, and the fact that she woke me at 5:17 a.m. to show me her butt. The biscuit caper put things over the top, I’ll tell you. Over the top.
(If she looks a little angry in the photo, it’s because she is. But look how dang big her stomach is……)

…it’s hard to believe Winnie EVER got up on the counters….or was in KA-HOOTS with the dogs….and never against Felix. It must have been her evil twin!!!! Oh, by the way, Happy Birthday pups.
You know how I feel about Winnie. In my book she can do no wrong. So, I am questioning the validity of that story, if ya really wanna know! That picture is so Photo-shopped (Miss Photog-Maven)!
Dashe had a fine day on his birthday: two walks, some flounder and baked potato mixed into his dinner, 2500 reminders that it was his birthday, lots of love and adoration from the cat (that’s every day) and from the humans. He also got to play with his friend, Lucy, (twice) who is really quite adoring of him also and he got a rousing game of ball in the house.
No Photoshop tricks on that one…. I’ll post my contact sheets later….
