This is what I’ve been hearing for a fair amount of time….. from some of the people who are very much in tune with the Bible.  I read the whole Bible (New & Old), cover to cover, when I was in college.  As with many things I read, I didn’t retain it all.  So I had to look this up on the internet today…..

2011 AD—On May 21st, Judgment Day will begin and the rapture (the taking up into heaven of God’s elect people) will occur at the end of the 23-year great tribulation. On October 21st, the world will be destroyed by fire (7000 years from the flood; 13,023 years from creation).

I’ve been keeping my eye on the sky all day long.  So far, and we still have an hour to go…. but so far…. nothing here in Charleston, SC.  The people on the news said that Jesus would be coming down, and then the good people will be heading back upstairs with him.  I haven’t seen anyone moving up that way yet.  Which tells me one of two things…

1. The people citing this date as  “Rapture Day”  … might be off a little in their calculations.

2. There are no “elect people” here in Charleston, SC.

I can’t say, for sure, which it might be.  I’ve always heard that God was the only one privy to when all of this would come about.  Soooooo…… I am leaning toward #1.  I don’t think it could be #2….. as I know a whole big bunch of kind-hearted, loving, generous people in this neck of the woods….  At any rate, I’m heading out to the roof for the next hour or so, to keep my eye on the sky.  Swing by and sit with me tonight.  We’ll talk… especially if you have high apple pie, in the sky hopes……
