Just me and my bonnet….

At once, Maxine realized she had made a terrible  mistake…. AND a Fashion Faux Pas.

Oh yes.  She  had strutted with pride….   in her new pink fuzzy Easter Hat, and spiffy Easter Basket….  She was dressed to the nines for the BIG parade….

But at the very site of the shiny black hogs… down at Battery Park ….she was struck with the reality that she had marked the incorrect date in her Franklin Cover Day Planner.  Oh.  Horror of Horrors.  It was…. indeed….. the wrong day.

How could she have known the Harley Davidson Biker’s Rally would be on the day before Easter?

As Butch, the Biker Bulldog jeered … and the rest of the Harley Bitches laughed at little Max…. she sank away in dejection.   Quietly, she scooped up her small Easter basket… her chocolate biscuits… her marshmallow peeps….. and made the long, lonely walk home.

“When we truly realize that we are all alone is when we need others the most” – Ronald Anthony

“Put on your Sunday clothes when you feel down and out
Strut down the street and have your picture took
Dressed like a dream your spirits seem to turn about
That Sunday shine is a certain sign
That you feel as fine as you look!”

– Dolly from Hello Dolly – ‘Put On Your Sunday Clothes’ Lyrics
