They don’t call it the Magic Kingdom for nothing.

There is all sorts of magic to be found … in this part of the maze…..

I would not be lion to you about that….

Nor would I kid you.

No.

There seems to be magic everywhere.  People have come here… from the whole word round….

to see a Man named Walt……  about a  Mouse.

And what a little mouse he is…..

A couple of things about this mouse…..

Mickey was almost named Mortimer Mouse.  Walt’s wife Lillian,  convinced him to name that little mouse something “catchier” and “cuter”…. so she suggested…… Mickey.

Mickey’s character was created to replace another animated individual named “Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.”

Mortimer and Oswald.  Morty and Ozzie.  Sounds more like a couple of Hit Men… or washed-up Rock Stars….  really.

Mickey’s first full animated film was Steamboat Willie… which was created in 1928.

Since that time… Mickey’s allure continues to grow and grow.

But not quite as much as you’d think.

Minnie has never had any baby mice.    I’m not completely sure what that means……
