Some people get corns on their feet. Sort of gnarly, but true.
Corns generally are found where toes rub together. They have an inner core that can be soft or hard. A soft corn is found between toes and they get that way because of sweaty feet. A hard corn is often found over a bony part of a toe (usually the fifth toe). Tight shoes are the biggest cause. I told you this was high on the ick-factor.
My friend, Perry the Podiatrist told me so.
But….. oh yes… there is a BUT. There is always a BUT at Kronytown.
But….. sometimes you get feet on your corn. Like in this field.
Corn is a complex beast. The root system is fibrous. Most corn plants develop these things called prop roots. Ingenious. They are extra roots that form above ground and eventually penetrate the soil. These help to anchor the heavy plant above…. ears and all.
Prop roots… aka…. Corn Feet…. are directly proportionate to those big old heavy ears.
My friend, Floyd the Farmer told me so.
One little flip of a word, and you have an entirely different matter.
Corn on your feet. Feet on your corn.
Sweaty rubbing toes… or plant ingenuity.
And the sad thing is…. I think about these things….. a lot. Pretty pathetic.
So… next week. Hard Drives…. or Drives Hard. And… Eye Glasses… or Glass Eyes. Oh…. it will be a doooooozy.
