On the sixth day…

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh………..

On the Sixth Day of Christmas, My True Love Gave to Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee………..

“Six Guys-a-Playing”

What are they playing you ask?  Is that what I am hearing….the murmurs bouncing off monitor screens across this great land of ours?  “What, what,” you say…. murmur, murmur…..  like a breeze through the trees of autumn…..ssssssppppspsss….. sssspppsssssssss……. ssssppppssss…..

Well, dag nambit…. it is quite OBVIOUS what they are playing.  It is the MIMIC Game!  You know the one….

Where you run right up behind someone on the street, a total stranger, and start mimic-ing their every step and motion.  You compete with one friend (or more), and use a stop watch.  Whoever can mimic the longest without getting “noticed” is the winner…  so… so….  see how the older guy is mimic-ing the newspaper boy.  And the cop is making fun of the guy in the red cap…..  and in the back there, the one guy is trying to run up behind the other guy with the bag of groceries…  Yessssssiiiiirrrrrreeeeee.  The Mimic Game!  Six Guys a Playing.

………………………………what the crap do you mean you’ve never heard of such of thing.   You ain’t living…. nope, just ain’t living…… if you don’t play this on a regular basis!  I’ll tell you that…. right now….yes I will……..

Second Day

As the old song goes…. “Second Verse, Same AS The First….”    Henry the 8th, I am, I am…. Henry the 8th I am…..

Crap, wrong song, wrong blog, second day….. sometimes I forget just where I am in Cyberspace.  Now “Cyberspace”…. there’s a word for you…. just what is a Cyber………. hang on….. I’ll go look it up…..  ……………………okay…….. I’m back…………….  found it:

cyber
adjective
1. electronic, digital, wired, virtual, web, Internet, Net, online.  (sentence:  our relationship was more cyber than face-to-face)

So there you have it.  Cyber “space” is an electronic, or wired, or virtual area…..  As I was saying, I sometimes lose my place in “Wired Area” (Not quite as “catchy” as Cyberspace.  Good thing I don’t write songs or anything like that.  Hey WAIT!  I DO for the next 10 days, now don’t I?)  ……….. Okay.  So back to it then.  The 12 Days of Christmas.  Yo, Ho, Ho.

From the top.   With feeling:

On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me:

Two Bowls of Suds…..

My…. 12 Days of Christmas

I sort of wish people would quit singing this, really.   Or even referencing it.  Just what the heck does it all mean?  Eh….?   We don’t even have 12 days of Christmas in these current times of ours.  No.  It has become, a bit more like…… the 58 days of Christmas, or something.  It starts right around Halloween, and extends until the 25th of December (and beyond).  So, in honor of this, or in protest…. I give you My 12 Days of Christmas.

Sing it loud, sing it proud.  We got 12 days of this folks…..

On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, “A Frog With A Very Trick Knee.”

Woolgathering….

I learned a word today I didn’t know:  Woolgathering.

It is the “indulgence in idle daydreaming.”  Yar.  I am a Woolgatherer, maybe from a long line of Woolgatherers. (see image above).

As Webster notes: “Woolgathering” once literally referred to the act of gathering loose tufts of wool that had gotten caught on bushes and fences as sheep passed by. Woolgatherers must have seemed to wander aimlessly, gaining little for their efforts, for in the mid-16th century “woolgathering” began to appear in figurative phrases such as “my wits (or my mind) went a-woolgathering” — in other words, “my mind went wandering aimlessly.” From there, it wasn’t long before the word “woolgathering” came to suggest the act of indulging in purposeless mind-wandering.

Splains a lot.

feed da boids….

My Grandma K always used to say…..

“Feed the birds and you’ll never go hungry.”  At least, I am told that is what she used to say.  I don’t remember so much from ages 0-3.

But now, I feed the birds.  Like this one.  This morning….

P.S.  Happy Birthday to my favorite Ohio Cardinal.   DYKW.

for Janet C….

My friend Janet C said that I haven’t been posting any Preble County images…..

1.  How can she tell the Preble County images from the Charleston County images?

2. Just to test her….have a guess where this came from…
