Hmmmm.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t until 1953 that scientists identified DNA.\u00a0 On this very date.\u00a0 April 25th.<\/p>\n

That really isn\u2019t that very long ago.<\/p>\n

DNA is a molecule.\u00a0 This molecule happens to\u00a0 encode the genetic instructions\u00a0 for YOU and for ME.\u00a0 As a matter of fact\u2026 it is used in the development and functioning of all known living organisms and many viruses.<\/p>\n

The whole big name of it is\u2026\u2026\u00a0 Deoxyribonucleic acid.<\/p>\n

DNA is material that governs inheritance of eye color, hair color, stature, bone density and many other human and animal traits.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It gives instructions.\u00a0 It lays out how we look, act, and who we are.<\/p>\n

Basically, every part of the body is made up of these tiny cells and each contains a sample or complement of DNA identical to that of every other cell within a given person.\u00a0 There are a few exceptions.<\/p>\n

You are you.\u00a0 I am me.<\/p>\n

Tonight, we had dinner with friends.\u00a0 Really good friends.<\/p>\n

Please note now\u2026 Exhibit A ad Exhibit B.<\/p>\n

So at dinner…. as I glanced around the restaurant, I realized we were the only four people that we knew\u2026.\u00a0\u00a0 out of the 300 or so people in the building.\u00a0 And then I looked out to the parking lot\u2026 and all the surrounding restaurants, and theaters, and stores.\u00a0 There, I saw thousands of cars in the parking area.<\/p>\n

It continued on\u2026 here we were\u2026 on just one small exit, on one single highway, in the entire state of Ohio.\u00a0 Think how many people were having their own personal interactions\u2026 at this very moment\u2026 in just this State alone.\u00a0 And how few of them I know, or who I will never meet.<\/p>\n

It made me wonder.\u00a0 About those I HAVE met\u2026 and WHY.\u00a0 Those I will NEVER know\u2026 and WHY.\u00a0 Each one of us with different and specific DNA.\u00a0 Different encoding.\u00a0 A unique set of instructions on how \u201cWE\u201d should be \u201cWE\u201d\u2026.<\/p>\n

I have no idea who the lady is in Exhibit A.\u00a0 She sat at a table down the aisle from us. I will probably never meet her… or even see her again. \u00a0 Exhibit B\u2026 is me\u2026 with my friends.<\/p>\n

I am so incredibly glad to know the people in Exhibit B.\u00a0 Blessed.\u00a0 Fortunate.\u00a0 Perhaps\u2026.Lucky.<\/p>\n

Whatever brought us together\u2026. in this whole big world?\u00a0 And why don\u2019t we know the lady in Exhibit A?<\/p>\n

Maybe our DNA has something to do with it.\u00a0 Our pre-given instructions.<\/p>\n

And.\u00a0 If that is the case\u2026 what the HECK did people do before 1953?\u00a0 How did they ever meet?\u00a0 Or not?<\/p>\n
