I was thinking about all the people that we come in contact with on any given day.\u00a0 There is a range of folks, from far and wide.<\/p>\n

Now my day started with an electrician, who was replacing a few canned lights in our house.\u00a0\u00a0 He was very nice, thorough, diligent, and seemed happy to be working through the tasks at hand .<\/p>\n

But the job was before him.\u00a0 Those lights have been here for 18 years, since we built the place. They were quite gnarly when he pulled them from their ceiling sockets.<\/p>\n

And that got me thinking about lightbulbs.\u00a0 Stay with me here.\u00a0 I mean. Holy crapamoly.\u00a0 There are a LOT of different kinds of lightbulbs in the world.<\/p>\n

There are incandescents, halogens, and fluorescents.\u00a0 New fangled CFLs, and LEDs.<\/p>\n

We have bulbs that come out only once a year, and twinkle on Christmas trees.\u00a0 There are flashbulbs, and big floodlights for the skies.\u00a0 Bright and flashy neon lights… which buzz all the time.\u00a0 So many lights… all different sizes, shapes, connections, and purposes.<\/p>\n

Take our “for instance” here at the house.\u00a0 Those old canned lights were\u00a0 incandescent.\u00a0 They used 65 watts of energy at a time, and could get very hot while they were in use.\u00a0 Not so efficient.\u00a0 But the new ones… the LEDs use only 10 watts, don’t get hot, and give off a beautiful white light.\u00a0 Seemlessly.<\/p>\n

Lots of bulbs with ways and purposes.\u00a0 A kazillion different kinds… but in the end… they all have the same end in mind.\u00a0 They\u00a0 produce light.<\/p>\n

And then I thought…. lightbulbs are….\u00a0 just like people.\u00a0 I think we might all just be here to shine our light. In some way or another. \u00a0 To be good stewards of energy, and\u00a0 share our individual brilliance with others.<\/p>\n

Some people seem to do it better than others.\u00a0 Some folks seem to be hot all the time, some are inefficient, or flashy, or twinkly.\u00a0 A few are pretty dim.\u00a0 Some though, are efficient, and steady.\u00a0 Some people give off beautiful white light.\u00a0 Seemlessly.<\/p>\n

Our lives…. our light.\u00a0 Each in our own way.<\/p>\n

Now the next person I ran in to today, was the plumber.\u00a0 I won’t really step in to that analogy tonight.<\/p>\n
