Today I watched some animals.<\/p>\n

You see.\u00a0 I was feeling a bit of stress and angst about a few things.\u00a0 From the minute I woke up this morning, I knew I had a busy day ahead.\u00a0 And a lot of things that were pressing on my brain-of-little-calm.\u00a0 And it snowballs when I think too much.<\/p>\n

I tell you about the start of it.\u00a0\u00a0 Early in the day, I was off to my first appointment,\u00a0 and my mind was everywhere but on driving.\u00a0 Then my phone rang. During THAT conversation, the person needed a couple of phone numbers from me, and some direction for our next plan of action.\u00a0 I decided, for once, to be smart, and pull off to the side of the road.<\/p>\n

And as I sat there, flipping through my phone, I noticed a beautiful white horse in the field in front of me.\u00a0 The early day sun was shining on the open plain, and the horse stood proudly in the center.\u00a0 He then, gracefully, nonchalantly, peacefully, leaned down and began grazing.\u00a0 A few more steps\u2026 a glance around\u2026 more grazing.\u00a0 This continued indefinitely.<\/p>\n

Yes.\u00a0 That was his day.\u00a0 His inner-essence had transcended far beyond what most of us could ever hope of achieving.\u00a0 He was perfectly content in his own being.\u00a0 In his own existence.\u00a0 Everything was\u2026 for this horse\u2026 exactly as it was supposed to be.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t fight it.\u00a0 Didn\u2019t worry about.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t\u00a0 get worked up about being better than the other horses, making more money, losing weight, finding success, winning the approval of others.<\/p>\n

Nope.\u00a0 There he was.\u00a0 At peace.<\/p>\n

Later in the day, I noticed this same thing, in a large group of deer that visit our place each day for a meal or two.\u00a0 They had the same look in their eyes as that beautiful horse.
\nThey too, seemed to be\u00a0 in compliance with the universe.\u00a0 Those deer were also content in their who, what, where, when and why.<\/p>\n

Some of you are probably saying\u2026 \u201cThey are just dumb animals.\u00a0 We humans are evolved.\u00a0 We have thinking brains.\u201d<\/p>\n

I wonder.<\/p>\n

I wonder who truly has more wisdom here.<\/p>\n

And as my day got more complicated and jumbled, and disturbed\u2026 I continued to wonder.\u00a0 How many times will my nose get bent out of shape before I learn a lesson.\u00a0 Someone mentioned today\u2026 If only we could practice what we preach.\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 So true.\u00a0 I wish, I hope, I write about the prospects of finding this peace.\u00a0 But I haven\u2019t figured it out yet.<\/p>\n

And chances are, I never will\u2026 completely.<\/p>\n

But that horse and those deer sure did make me think.\u00a0 The made me think hard.\u00a0 And therein\u2026 lies the Catch 22.<\/p>\n
