What do you do for a living?\u00a0 A common question we often hear.<\/p>\n

And most people will tell you how they earn money to live, to survive, in this material world of ours.<\/p>\n

On any given day, we do our deal.\u00a0 Whatever it is that \u201cdeal\u201d might be.\u00a0 Maybe the \u201cthing\u201d you do all day, is add numbers, and then subtract them.\u00a0 Or perhaps you put a bolt in a hole that will end up in a Honda.\u00a0 Some of us go to a lot of meetings, and others work on phone poles.\u00a0 I know people who are in marketing, advertising, finance, and janitorial endeavors.\u00a0\u00a0 Today, I even saw a guy pretend to be an electrician.\u00a0 And he wasn\u2019t very good at it.\u00a0 Nonetheless.\u00a0 All of these things are just our jobs.<\/p>\n

What do you do for a living?<\/p>\n

One of these days, I would like to answer with\u2026.., \u201cI spend each waking moment trying to make this world a better place.\u201d<\/p>\n

I wish it were true.<\/p>\n

Believe me when I say…… That is my hope, my wish, my desire.\u00a0 But a lot of times I am not so good at it. \u00a0\u00a0 At all.<\/p>\n

It takes a saint, really.\u00a0 I think there are saints walking among us.\u00a0 I really do.\u00a0 But I am a far cry from even crawling\u2026 let alone walking.<\/p>\n

When we let go of focusing on the negative aspects of life, we get a little closer to making things better.\u00a0 When we approach life with a calmness, a sense of peace, a kindness\u2026 a love for others\u2026 a prayer for others\u2026 that is where it begins.\u00a0 And yes, a prayer for someone…. even if you don\u2019t believe in a god.<\/p>\n

I guess what I think about this…. is this:\u00a0 Most of us want to be loved.\u00a0 And to be loved, we have to believe in good.\u00a0 By believing in good, and acting that way\u2026. it is possible for us to know true love\u2026 and true peace.<\/p>\n

At least.. that’s what I want to do for a living.\u00a0 My living.<\/p>\n
