Newfound freedoms.<\/p>\n

I will tell you this.\u00a0 Newfound freedoms are one of the best feelings in the world.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, they don\u2019t feel so great when you are finding them for the first time.\u00a0 There are growing pains associated with some, and not others.<\/p>\n

Anytime we have known restrictions, or even some form of \u201cimprisonment\u201d\u2026 and we have been able to \u201cescape\u201d that thing.. or transcend it\u2026.\u00a0 we have a newfound freedom.<\/p>\n

This is common with people who have done things like quit smoking or quit drinking.\u00a0 Recovering addicts in general have newfound freedoms.<\/p>\n

Kids moving out of their parents homes.
\nPeople who get out of bad relationships.\u00a0 ANY bad relationship.
\nIndividuals who have lost weight.
\nSomeone who has left an oppressive job.<\/p>\n

Oh, the list goes on and on.<\/p>\n

And then.\u00a0 There are Chickens.\u00a0 Free Range Chickens.<\/p>\n

Yes, today our flock experienced a newfound freedom.\u00a0 They had a pretty good yard to begin with, but we finally got our \u201cnew pasture fence\u201d put in place.<\/p>\n

The old smaller \u201cyard\u201d came down, and those chickens looked like they were in a scene from Chicken Run.\u00a0 Yes, those feathered fowl explored the brave new world.<\/p>\n

They were doing little barn yard dances, and making happy noises.\u00a0 Chuck, one of our non-crowing roosters\u2026 gave it his very best cock-a-doodle-doo\u2026. at least five times.<\/p>\n

Those chickens walked, they ran, they flapped and fluttered.\u00a0 If we were having toast, they would have buttered.<\/p>\n

We had some happy chickens.\u00a0 I\u2019ll tell you that much right now.<\/p>\n

And tonight, when I tucked them into their little chicken-beds, and read them their bedtime story ( they always want me to read Chicken Little )\u2026. they all fell hard and fast asleep.<\/p>\n

They will sleep good tonight.\u00a0 And they will dream of their newfound freedom.\u00a0 They will smile softly.\u00a0 As well as chickens can smile.<\/p>\n

And tomorrow\u2026.. The Freedom Chickens will rise again.<\/p>\n
