There is an old saying that goes\u2026 \u201cAnother year older, another year wiser.\u201d\u00a0 I think this is true\u2026 SOMETIMES.<\/p>\n

There have been plenty of birthdays in my past, when I turned the odometer over another notch.\u00a0 But not in every case had I smartened up any.<\/p>\n

Yet here I am.\u00a0 And, thankfully… I think I am a heck of a lot wiser than I used to be.\u00a0 At the very least, I\u2019ve learned a crap-ton of lessons.<\/p>\n

I just wish, somehow\u2026 I could have found these things out in my youth.\u00a0 Of course, had I known these things earlier in life, I would be very different today.\u00a0 I\u2019d have like 4 Nobel Prizes wrapped up by this point.<\/p>\n

Okay. Not so much.\u00a0 But I would have been different.<\/p>\n

Here are a few biggies\u2026..<\/p>\n

Everything in life is impermanent.<\/p>\n

We all know this to be true, but sometimes, when you are young, it doesn\u2019t seem real.\u00a0 We won\u2019t live forever, and neither will our parents, our dogs, or our pet hamsters.\u00a0 We also won\u2019t be sad forever, or heartbroken, angry, or happy\u2026 or anything else.\u00a0 It all changes, sometimes by the moment.<\/p>\n

Change scares me sometimes.\u00a0 I think it does the same to a lot of people.\u00a0 When in fact, that \u201cconstant change\u201d is a cause for celebration.\u00a0 We should rejoice in the fact that tomorrow\u2026 it all changes. In that\u2026. we can cherish the wonderful moments, and have knowledge that the really stinky times won\u2019t last forever.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I believe knowing this helps us find peace.<\/p>\n

We also won\u2019t stay young forever. I wish I had figured that out when I was younger.\u00a0 Dag nab it.<\/p>\n

Here is another big lesson.\u00a0 Compassion is Key.\u00a0 It is the thing that bridges all people.\u00a0 It connects us all.\u00a0 No matter our color, belief system, or make-up.\u00a0 It is why everyone is thinking Pope Francis is so Rocking.\u00a0 He lives compassion.<\/p>\n

Sure.\u00a0 We won\u2019t always agree with everyone you meet.\u00a0 Take Donald Trump, for instance.\u00a0 But that doesn\u2019t mean we can\u2019t get along with those people. Except for maybe Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

If we really try to express compassion towards all people\u2026. and ALL living beings\u2026 we will know greatness.\u00a0 Greatness!\u00a0 In many ways.\u00a0 If we have understanding and sensitivity throughout our lives, we will find peace.\u00a0 We will transcend things we never thought possible.\u00a0 Honest.\u00a0 Well… I guess I don’t know for sure if all of this might be true.\u00a0 BUT…. I’m counting on it… at least.<\/p>\n

So.\u00a0 I\u2019ve said it before, and I will say it again.
\nI wish you peace.\u00a0 In every facet of your life, I wish you peace.<\/p>\n

Earlier…. I also said that everything changes.\u00a0 I hope that is NOT true.\u00a0 I hope that I always, always, can wish you peace.\u00a0\u00a0 Always.<\/p>\n
