\"hooky\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Earlier in this day, I came across this hook, lying on the ground.\u00a0 I am fairly certain, this isn\u2019t where it belongs.\u00a0 Where it belongs.<\/p>\n

And that reminded me\u2026 about me.\u00a0 I am pretty adament about putting things where they belong.\u00a0 My organizational skills are off the charts, if I must say so myself.<\/p>\n

And I must say so myself, because no one else will.\u00a0 But seriously, I am \u201ca place for everything, and everything in it\u2019s place\u201d kind-of-gal.\u00a0 I have this little ailment, most folks know as OCD.\u00a0 Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.\u00a0 In fact, I am so OCD, I think the letters should really read DCO, for order\u2019s sake.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not the point.\u00a0 I keep things where they belong.\u00a0 And I like those things clean.\u00a0 And that is my deal.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t sort my peas from my mashed potatoes.\u00a0 I don\u2019t lock doors 5 or 10 times, over and over again. (I may check them once or twice though). I will definitely step on cracks.\u00a0 My Mom is 91\u2026. and she has yet to break her back.<\/p>\n

So my OCD is sort of selective.
\nBut that\u2019s not the point either.<\/p>\n

Sometimes I am TOO organized.<\/p>\n

As I mentioned earlier, I live by the \u201ca place for everything\u201d pledge.\u00a0 But on occasion, I will acquire something that does not yet have a place.\u00a0 And therein lies the problem.<\/p>\n

First\u2026 the conundrum.\u00a0 Where the heck should it\u2019s place be?\u00a0 I’ve never had a widget before.\u00a0 Where do widgets belong?\u00a0 Once I have established this, in my organized brain, I carefully stow that little \u201csomething\u201d in its designated place.<\/p>\n

Much of the time, this pattern of behavior is successful for me.\u00a0 You see\u2026 the next time I need the \u201cwidget\u201d\u2026. which I just put away\u2026 I will be able to find that widget.<\/p>\n

However\u2026. there have been incidents.\u00a0 Every now and again, I cannot remember\u2026 in my aforementioned organized brain\u2026.WHERE I put my dang widget.<\/p>\n

I search high and low.\u00a0 To and fro.\u00a0 But to no avail.\u00a0 No widget.<\/p>\n

.. \u2026\u2026 \u2026 uhhhhnnnnn\u2026. truth be told\u2026.. this happens\u00a0 a little more often than I suggested.\u00a0 In fact\u2026 it happens a lot.<\/p>\n

It frightens me a little.\u00a0 It is the \u201cnot knowing\u201d whatever became of all those widgets\u2026.<\/p>\n

One day\u2026 I just know I am going to open a closet somewhere, and a blue million widgets will come pouring out of there\u2026 falling right on my head\u2026 just like a scene from an old movie.\u00a0 All of those misplaced items\u2026 lying on the floor\u2026 misplaced.<\/p>\n

NOWWWW….. where do they belong?\u00a0 Where do they go?<\/p>\n

And that is what brought me to this.\u00a0 I spend a lot of time, trying to figure out where I belong.\u00a0 Where I belong in life, in purpose, in direction.\u00a0 Where I belong in all this space and time.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, I fit in perfectly, and I am useful, and I feel found.\u00a0 Other times\u2026 I fall out\u2026 all over the place\u2026 scattered on the floor with all the other misplaced widgets.<\/p>\n

I guess, I should just be thankful for the times when it all fits rather nicely.\u00a0 And when it doesn\u2019t?\u00a0 I may not understand it…. in the moment.\u00a0 But perhaps.. I am exactly where I am supposed to be.\u00a0 Maybe.<\/p>\n
