Today was Labor Day, as you may have noticed.<\/p>\n

It is a lot of different things, to a lot of different people.\u00a0 For instance, the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council says that between Memorial Day and Labor Day\u2026. we Americans will eat 7 billion hot dogs.<\/p>\n

I have not had one all summer long.\u00a0 Nada.\u00a0 Not even in the form of a Corn Dog.\u00a0 A crying shame, I know.\u00a0\u00a0 The moment was never quite right.\u00a0 You see, these days, I don\u2019t eat a whole big bunch of meat.\u00a0 So when I do, it is typically in the form of something colossal.\u00a0 Like a Filet Mignon.<\/p>\n

But back to Labor Day.\u00a0 Did you know this was strictly an American Holiday?\u00a0 I don\u2019t understand why, really.\u00a0 I mean, who could pass up celebrating the most noble act on earth.<\/p>\n

Mothers all over the world should be honored for this, I\u2019ll tell you.\u00a0 Giving birth to a child is no small detail.\u00a0 That is for sure.\u00a0 In fact, not a one of us would be here, if it weren\u2019t for the labors of our mothers.\u00a0\u00a0 It is quite painful, in fact.\u00a0 At least that is what I am told.\u00a0 So\u2026 on this day\u2026 I want to personally thank all the mothers, near and far, for enduring labor, and giving birth.\u00a0 Happy Labor Day to you.<\/p>\n

(Hold on a second. Mary was just reading over my shoulder, and she contends that today is not a Motherhood Holiday.\u00a0 I\u2019ll have to Wikipedia this one\u2026. so here\u2019 s a small commercial break while you wait.)<\/p>\n

Okay.\u00a0 I\u2019m back.\u00a0 Never mind you Mothers.<\/p>\n

Happy Work-Your-Butts-Off-Day.<\/p>\n

And tomorrow\u2026. Have a hot dog.\u00a0 Wear white.\u00a0 Break the rules.\u00a0 And\u2026. call your Mother if you are lucky enough to have one.\u00a0 You can make this day anything you want.<\/p>\n
