You can learn a great deal, on any given day, by listening and looking.\u00a0\u00a0 Here are a few things I considered today, in my flight of observations.<\/p>\n

This morning, I overheard someone say, “I will have to look that up on my ‘Laptop Computer’ \u201d\u2026.<\/p>\n

If you refer to your laptop\u2026 I suppose it doesn\u2019t necessarily mean computer.\u00a0 If you say… I\u2019ll have to look that up on my laptop…..\u00a0 I guess you could mean many other things.<\/p>\n

Perhaps you would just be staring at the top your thighs, trying to find the answer to…. \u201cWhen is Meryl Streep\u2019s birthday?\u201d or \u201cMLB Standings\u201d and such.<\/p>\n

I tried it.\u00a0 While I noticed that my moles have not changed, and that I missed a couple of spots on my knees when I shaved this morning, I did not find any other answers.<\/p>\n

Conceivably…. there is a lesson there.<\/p>\n

What if the \u201cAnswers\u201d to life\u2019s question are always there for us?\u00a0 We just have to choose the right places to look.<\/p>\n

So I found out Meryl was born on June 22, 1949\u2026 and that the Kansas City Royals are 12 games up in the American League Central.\u00a0 They are one of my favorite teams, by the way.<\/p>\n

But, the point is\u2026 the answers could not be found in the vein patterns on my legs.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s think about something else.\u00a0 Since we are thinking, let\u2019s think on the brain.\u00a0 Did you ever stop to consider that the brain named itself?\u00a0 It\u2019s true.\u00a0 And everything else, for that matter.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The first brain really wanted to be named Brian\u2026 but wrote it down wrong.\u00a0 The lesson?\u00a0 We all make mistakes.\u00a0 Sometimes, we simply have to live with them, or make the best of it.<\/p>\n

And\u2026 how about this profound thought:\u00a0\u00a0 Do geese see God?
\n(You can read that phrase\u2026 all the way backward and forward\u2026.\u00a0 Now\u2026 THAT has GOT to mean something.)\u00a0\u00a0 I am not sure what the lesson is\u2026 maybe that there are two ways of looking at everything, but in the end\u2026. we might all be very much the same.<\/p>\n

Finally.\u00a0 You, me and everyone else we know is made up of around 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (7 octillion) atoms.\u00a0 So\u2026 in that way\u2026 we are very much alike.\u00a0 But with 7 octillion atoms in us\u2026 we are also\u2026most certainly\u2026 very different.<\/p>\n

And those are a few of the things I thought about today.\u00a0 How about you?<\/p>\n
