I am terrible with face recognition.\u00a0 Which is totally not the point of my story tonight.\u00a0 But\u2026 it is mildly connected, so I\u2019ll go on.<\/p>\n

I can only think of one reason why I can\u2019t remember faces.\u00a0\u00a0 I have a pretty dang snappy memory, after all.\u00a0 I would say, my \u201crecall ability\u201d is better than the average bear.\u00a0 Not to brag on my bear abilities\u2026 but I do have the old steel trap on my head.<\/p>\n

Anyway, my face recognition is terrible.\u00a0 Especially out of context.\u00a0 I will see someone at the grocery, they will call me by name, smile, wave\u2026 and I\u2026.\u00a0 well\u2026.. I raise my hand in a joyful salutation. But truth be told, most of the time, I have absolutely no clue who stands before me.<\/p>\n

Here is my excuse, and I am sticking with it:<\/p>\n

I have never cared much about people\u2019s physical appearances.\u00a0 In fact, not much at all. I just don\u2019t notice.<\/p>\n

We will be out with friends, and everyone will all of a sudden say\u2026 \u201cOh my goodness.\u00a0 Did you get a load of THAT?\u201d\u00a0 And everyone nods, and rolls eyes, or chuckles.\u00a0 And I sit there, usually asking\u2026 \u201cGet a load of what?\u201d<\/p>\n

I just don\u2019t notice what people wear, or haircuts, or even if they have cyclops eyes.
\nNope.<\/p>\n

So.\u00a0 On to my story.\u00a0 Finally. Often times\u2026 I will be out and about\u2026 and someone will come up and pat me on the back and say\u2026. \u201cHey, how are them-there chickens?\u201d and then they laugh and laugh.\u00a0 I stand there thinking\u2026 \u201cHow does this person know I have chickens?\u201d Or they will drive by and yell out the window\u2026 \u201cChased any good chickens lately?\u201d<\/p>\n

I know they are probably referring to this daily writing.\u00a0 But dang. I don\u2019t know who they are. And then I wonder.<\/p>\n

I can only say that Karma is a heck of a thing.\u00a0 I was asking for this a LONG time ago.\u00a0 As it happens\u2026. I still have that old City Girl Blood pumping in my veins.\u00a0 So.\u00a0 Way back\u2026 when the whole \u201cMilk\u201d campaign came out with their catchy new slogan, I would use it.<\/p>\n

You see\u2026 I\u2019d be driving along a country road, and see a field of cows.\u00a0 No matter wind or rain, I would roll down my window and yell out at those cows\u2026 \u201cHEY!\u00a0 GOT MILK?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And I would laugh and laugh.\u00a0 Those cows would turn around, look my way.. .. and have these expressions on their faces\u2026. like\u2026 \u201cDo we know who the heck that woman is?\u201d<\/p>\n

Well.\u00a0 NOW I know how they feel.\u00a0 Every time a drive-by chicken remark comes my way.\u00a0\u00a0 And it comes full circle.<\/p>\n
