Are you ever sitting quietly, having your morning cup of coffee\u2026 and think\u2026 \u201cHecky dern.\u00a0 I wonder where ol\u2019 Stinky Pendleton is these days?\u201d\u00a0 Or maybe\u2026 \u201cHmmm.\u00a0 I wonder how my cousin Elwood is doing?\u201d<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the thing of it.\u00a0\u00a0 We lose touch with people.\u00a0 Our lives shift and change.\u00a0 I see it a lot with work situations.\u00a0 You might be on the same job with someone for 15 years.\u00a0 You are the very best of friends\u2026 working side by side\u2026 every day of the week.\u00a0\u00a0 And then one of you quits or moves away.\u00a0 Oh\u2026. you VOW, to stay in touch. You DO.\u00a0\u00a0 You poke your thumbs and seal it in blood while your standing in front of the vending machines in the break room.<\/p>\n

But then it happens.\u00a0 They just sort of fade away.\u00a0 All that time just drifts away.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t mean to, or do it on purpose.\u00a0 We just get pulled into another part of our lives.<\/p>\n

Sure\u2026.\u00a0 there are certain people we keep connections with\u2026 for years, and years.\u00a0 In fact, I have one friend that I\u2019ve know since I was about 8 years old.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure why it happens one way this and one way that\u2026 but it does.<\/p>\n

I can only say that I am very glad and grateful for all the good people in my life right now.\u00a0 I am blessed with loved ones, in the shape of family and friends.<\/p>\n

I am also thankful for every person in my past.\u00a0 The significant and the passing.\u00a0 Each person I have met, has in some way, affected my path.\u00a0 My life journey.\u00a0 It may have been a little blip, or a huge kapow.<\/p>\n

I just learned that my cousin Judy passed last night, making her the 3rd one of my cousins to pass.\u00a0 She was born in 1947\u2026. the same year as my oldest sibling.\u00a0 We were never extremely close, because of our disparity in age.\u00a0 But I am sad for her, and her kids\u2026 and all those people who were significant in Judy\u2019s life.\u00a0\u00a0 I know she will be missed.<\/p>\n

My point, I guess\u2026 is that no matter where we find ourselves in life, there are people who mean a great deal to us.\u00a0 We should let them know how much we love them\u2026. not only in words\u2026 but in actions.<\/p>\n

Nothing is permanent or guaranteed.\u00a0 But we can take this moment and be a part of life.\u00a0 While we have it\u2026. life \u2026 precious life.<\/p>\n
