It is funny, isn\u2019t it.<\/p>\n

We use this phrase a lot.\u00a0 Whether something is funny or not.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is funny how time flies.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cIt is funny to think of him running for office.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cIt is funny how much things cost these days.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 Oh.\u00a0 You get my drift.<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m off topic already.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t mean to start writing about \u201cfunny.\u201d
\nIt is funny how often I get off topic when I start writing here.\u00a0 ( Holy crap \u2026. there I go again.\u201d)<\/p>\n

Anyway.\u00a0 Back where I began.\u00a0 It is funny how some things bother me and other do not.\u00a0 Point in case.<\/p>\n

I get up every morning at 5:30 or before. Now.\u00a0 I really slow myself down when I make the coffee.\u00a0 1. Because it is dang early and I haven\u2019t had any coffee yet. And. 2. Because I am a big klutz.\u00a0\u00a0 This is amplified when I am in a hurry.\u00a0 Yet this morning, as careful as I was being, I managed to spray the coffee grounds all over the kitchen counter, into the freshly cleaned pot, and into the purified water bin.\u00a0 DO OVER.<\/p>\n

Yet. It didn\u2019t bother me.\u00a0 I just gladly cleaned up the mess, and started over.<\/p>\n

Then tonight, as I was pulling out some things to heat up for dinner, I heard Frances whimper at the backdoor.\u00a0 There was rain on the way, and she does not like the thunder.\u00a0 I opened up the door and gave her a hug.\u00a0 She walked in about 5 steps, and proceeded to puke up a rabbit\u2026 right on the kitchen floor.\u00a0 Talk about a magician pulling the rabbit out of the hat!\u00a0 And\u2026 how completely appetizing this looked right as I was about to have dinner.\u00a0 Nonetheless, I cleaned up the mess.\u00a0 Regrouped.\u00a0 And started over.\u00a0\u00a0 It didn\u2019t bother me.<\/p>\n

Jump back to earlier in the day. At the store, I got in line behind a woman with a cart filled to the brim with groceries. She proceeded to stand and watch the cashier to ring up all 9,452 items.\u00a0\u00a0 And then, when the cashier announce the total\u2026 the woman began to dig around in her oversized purse.\u00a0 Finally, she produced a check book.\u00a0 She slowly and carefully wrote out the check, and then dove back into that purse\u2026 in search of her driver\u2019s license and Marsh card.<\/p>\n

By my estimation, she knew for AT LEAST 10 minutes\u2026 .while waiting in line\u2026 that she would eventually have to PAY for these items.\u00a0 In fact\u2026 prior to shopping\u2026 she must have had SOME idea that she would eventually have to pay for the groceries.\u00a0 She might have spent a few moments getting that check all ready to go\u2026 except for the final amount.\u00a0 But no.\u00a0 We all waited. More.<\/p>\n

I did NOT regroup.\u00a0 Clearly, this bothered me.<\/p>\n

Funny, isn\u2019t it.<\/p>\n

Now, I don\u2019t know why the water rolls off this duck\u2019s back in some cases\u2026 but in other situations \u2026 the big weight of \u201cThe Bother\u201d sticks to me like peanut butter sticks to the roof of your mouth.<\/p>\n

It might be the difference between happenstance and intention.\u00a0 Accidents happen.\u00a0 But\u2026 intention\u2026 or lack there of\u2026ARE\u2026. for lack of a better word\u2026 intentional.<\/p>\n

I think the big part of my problem is the need for perfectionism, and the expectation of efficiency in others.<\/p>\n

So.\u00a0 Relax Polly Girl.\u00a0 I think my best bet is to realize that we are all simply different.\u00a0 What some people see, others do not.\u00a0 And vice versa.<\/p>\n

I just need to keep practicing at this thing called life.\u00a0 Heaven knows, I have a long way to go myself.<\/p>\n
