On any given day, I wonder\u2026 I just wonder\u2026 how many things we see?<\/p>\n

There is that saying that WE are spiritual beings, inhabiting a human body.\u00a0 This is our \u201cvessel\u201d for travel\u2026 our spirits…. through this time.\u00a0 As such, supoosedly we are \u201climited\u201d by our human form.<\/p>\n

Yet.\u00a0 We have some pretty amazing capabilities.\u00a0 Sight.\u00a0 Sound.\u00a0 Touch. Taste. Smell.\u00a0 Holy smokes.\u00a0 Those are some incredible functions.\u00a0 Miraculous, really.<\/p>\n

Which brings me to the first question.\u00a0 I wonder how many things we see in a day?\u00a0 How many smells, and sounds do we encounter?\u00a0 Tastes?\u00a0 Tactile experiences?\u00a0 Thousands upon thousands upon thousands I imagine.<\/p>\n

It is speculated that humans have between 50,000 and 70,000 thoughts per day.\u00a0 That\u2019s a lot.\u00a0 Different studies show around 30,000.\u00a0 Hey.\u00a0 That\u2019s a lot too.\u00a0 A lot of fast, nondescript thinking.\u00a0 We are all over the place in our minds.<\/p>\n

My point is, we have this second.\u00a0 Right here.\u00a0 This little minute. \u00a0 Do we really need to be anywhere else?<\/p>\n

Do we really see what is in front of us, and appreciate whatever it is?\u00a0 Whether it is the Grand Canyon, or a peanut butter sandwich?\u00a0 Do we hear the sounds?\u00a0 Do we listen\u2026 truly listen\u2026 when someone speaks?\u00a0 Or are we just getting ready in our little heads to answer back?<\/p>\n

I think some people are really good at this.\u00a0 At actually living.. and being.\u00a0 And others just flop around through the day\u2026 with little attention to this OR that.<\/p>\n

I also think life is a gift.\u00a0 Our humanness, in all it\u2019s limitations, is an immeasurable gift.\u00a0 Tremendous.\u00a0 For this minute in front of me, I will notice this gift and be thankful.<\/p>\n

I had Sushi for dinner, and it was completely great.\u00a0 The food, and the people I was sharing it with.\u00a0 In that minute, I loved it.\u00a0 And. Right now, I am thinking about all the people I know who might read this.\u00a0 I love them all.\u00a0 Gifts.<\/p>\n

It is through gratitude for the present moment that the spiritual dimension of life opens up.<\/strong><\/em>
