I like certain shows on TV.\u00a0 Most of the time, they have to do with news or real events.\u00a0 Like 60 Minutes, and CBS Sunday Morning, and such.\u00a0 So this time of year drives me a little nutty, because most everything is reruns.\u00a0 I don\u2019t mind reruns so much.\u00a0 BUT\u2026. when \u201cnews\u201d items are re-run\u2026 it bugs me to the high heavens.<\/p>\n

Of course, it happened again tonight.\u00a0 60 Minutes\u2026 The Pizza Box Guy.<\/p>\n

And then it reminded me of this thing\u2026 this Project\u00a0 or Blog or Compiled Utterances.<\/p>\n

I am certain I have a lot of reruns here.\u00a0 I started this in January of 2010.\u00a0 So that makes about 5 1\/2 years of writing this every day.\u00a0 With the exception of a day or two here and there\u2026. when I hung up my Thesaurus.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, that is roughly 2,110 days.<\/p>\n

Now\u2026. you would think, I could come up with a fresh serving of \u201ccorned beef hash\u201d for 2,000 consecutive days.\u00a0 But I get stale.\u00a0 I hit the reruns.\u00a0 I do not like it when I am having the reruns.\u00a0 Someone get the Kaopectate.<\/p>\n

But truth be told it isn\u2019t easy. Kermit once said\u2026\u201dIt ain\u2019t easy being green.\u201d\u00a0 And I think he meant green\u2026 as in \u201cfresh, new, ingenuous, original.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 \u2026\u2026.\u00a0 Yeah.\u00a0 Well, bet me.\u00a0 It ain\u2019t easy being green.<\/p>\n

Especially, when my life is so repetitive.\u00a0 It comes right in the same package with all the other OCD behaviors. Sometimes, I feel like the days of my life are like a skipping record.<\/p>\n

(Segue: If you don\u2019t know what a record is\u2026 they were these round things with grooves in them.\u00a0 You would put them on turntables, and then lower an arm with a needle on them to make sound\u2026. music.\u00a0 But sometimes there would be a glitch.\u00a0 A scratch in a groove, or\u00a0 a little clump of peanut butter\u2026 or whatever.\u00a0 The needle would get stuck in that groove.\u00a0 And it would just go around and around and around\u2026 playing the same line over and over again.)<\/p>\n

My life.\u00a0 Most days.\u00a0 Skipping Record.<\/p>\n

Somehow though, that is how I think I like it.\u00a0 Predictable.\u00a0 And in my little mind, predictable is safe.\u00a0\u00a0 Some people love adventure and new things.\u00a0 (Every so often\u2026 HEY\u2026 me too!)\u00a0 But most days\u2026 safe is good.<\/p>\n

But I guess…. we all are\u2026 who we are.\u00a0 I am a homebody.\u00a0 I like a schedule.\u00a0 I like to have it all lined up.\u00a0 Some of us are adventurous, and need something new to be happening all the time.\u00a0 Travelers.\u00a0 Thrill-seekers, and the like. We are all wired differently.\u00a0 And that is a good thing.<\/p>\n

So.\u00a0 I guess if you finally get tired of the reruns here\u2026 you\u2019ll tune into another station.\u00a0 Until then\u2026 thanks for watching the show.\u00a0 And sticking with the groove.<\/p>\n
