I have two phrases on my mind tonight.\u00a0 The first is \u201cBeautiful Creatures\u201d<\/strong> <\/em>and the second is \u201cPower Play.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em> As with everything else in this world\u2026 they are connected.<\/p>\n

Well\u2026 at least I think so.<\/p>\n

The old \u201cPower Play\u201d\u2026.<\/p>\n

This can have a whole lot of\u00a0 different meanings.\u00a0 In hockey, for instance, you have the \u201cPower Play\u201d when one of your dudettes is in the penalty box\u2026 and you have more players on the ice\u2026. because of this.\u00a0 Hence the PP.<\/p>\n

It happens in the non-sports world too. It occurs when somebody uses (or has) knowledge \/ or information \/ or power, against someone else.\u00a0 So they assert this \u201cknowledge\u201d in order to gain advantage.<\/p>\n

Yep.\u00a0 It happens in business, in friendships, in marriages\u2026 and quite often\u2026\u00a0 in nature.\u00a0 Typically when one rooster thinks he has a bigger cock-a-doodle-doo than the next rooster\u2026they stare each other down.\u00a0 Sometimes\u2026 they even get out their little peckers and pick a fight.\u00a0\u00a0 Oh yes.\u00a0 Ruffle THEM feathers.<\/p>\n

It also happens among strangers.
\nStrangers.<\/p>\n

For instance.\u00a0 I was driving home today, and in a bit of a hurry.\u00a0 I had a meeting at the house, but my Mom needed some extra help just as I was leaving her today.\u00a0 So\u2026 it put me back a little bit.<\/p>\n

Anyway\u2026 I was on my way home\u2026 and I came up on a guy driving a backhoe\u2026 slowly.\u00a0 (Now I don\u2019t mind farm equipment on the roads\u2026 not one little bit.\u00a0 I know they have a job to do and their lives are hard enough.)<\/p>\n

So back to my foible.\u00a0 Double yellow lines.\u00a0 No good place to pass.\u00a0 I had to relax and slow it down until my turn off.\u00a0 Wouldn\u2019t you know?\u00a0 He turned too.\u00a0 Now this guy\u2026 THIS guy\u2026. had plenty of opportunity to pull over slightly and let me by.\u00a0 But no.<\/p>\n

He stayed dead center in the road.\u00a0 He knew I was behind him.\u00a0 The more aggravated I got, the slower he went.\u00a0 Okay\u2026 relax Pol.\u00a0 Next turn.\u00a0 And\u2026. DAG NAB IT.\u00a0 He turned too.\u00a0 Of course, he did the same thing\u2026 center of the road.\u00a0 He was a big bad strong man with a backhoe, and the road was HIS.\u00a0 The rest of the world could get in line and wait on The all mighty and powerful King of Heavy Equipment<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0 Well enough.<\/p>\n

I took my nice clean sedan for a little four-wheeling adventure.\u00a0 Yep.\u00a0 Right up in a farm yard at a pretty good clip.\u00a0 Pedal to the Metal.\u00a0 I Mario Andretti-ed the guy.<\/p>\n

Take a walk on the wild side, baby.<\/p>\n

So.. fast forward to this evening.\u00a0 I was thinking about my day and the fact that I saw SO many beautiful creatures.\u00a0 Most days I come in contact with so many.\u00a0 People, animals, insects\u2026. you name it.\u00a0 Just tonight, there were several deer at our feeder throughout the hours.\u00a0 Moms and fawns.\u00a0 Rabbits, squirrels, birds, dogs, fish, chipmunks\u2026 and on.\u00a0 Right outside our front windows.<\/p>\n

And each day….. My partner, my brother, my sister, my friend, my Mom\u2026.\u00a0 healers, helpers, and harlequins. All beautiful.<\/p>\n

And I wondered what makes some people so very, very beautiful right to the core?\u00a0\u00a0 And what on earth motivates people to be ugly creatures with a backhoe and a power play?<\/p>\n

Another of life\u2019s mysteries.\u00a0 I much prefer the good eggs in life.\u00a0 The rotten eggs grow up to be mean old roosters\u2026 the ones with those little peckers.\u00a0 Yep.<\/p>\n
