For many a good reason \u2026 I use the \u201cTalk-To-Text\u201d feature quite often on my phone.\u00a0 I think, for the most part, it is a real time-saver.\u00a0 I just \u201csay what I want to say\u201d and it turns it into a text message, or an email, or a Google search\u2026 or whatever App I\u2019ve designated.<\/p>\n

In theory.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, this goes horribly wrong.\u00a0 Take tonight for instance.\u00a0 I had to work at the Preble County Fair for the Art Association.\u00a0 I knew the first Saturday Night would be busy, so I left my house an hour earlier than I would normally have to leave.<\/p>\n

Yeah. Well.\u00a0 Best laid plans of mice and men.\u00a0 I sat in line, waiting to pull into the Fairgrounds, for more than an hour.\u00a0 It was bad with a capital B.<\/p>\n

At any rate, I texted ahead, to let them know the absurdity of the situation.\u00a0 And of course, that I might be late.\u00a0 So\u2026 I said\u2026 \u201cThis is ridiculous.\u201d\u00a0 I emphasized ridiculous<\/strong><\/em>\u2026 because I was not so happy about the situation.<\/p>\n

I shot off the text, and looked down.\u00a0 Well. Big Whoops on me.\u00a0 It said\u2026 \u201cThis is Read Dick You List\u201d\u00a0 Great.\u00a0 Read Dick You List.\u00a0 Who the heck is Dick?\u00a0 What list?\u00a0 And oh\u2026 how about your English Polly?<\/p>\n

And there you have it.<\/p>\n

I did not say what I wanted to say.<\/p>\n

Or maybe I said it wrong.<\/p>\n

And then it hit me.\u00a0 This happens in life sometimes too.\u00a0 Have you ever had a situation where you wished you had told someone \u201csomething\u201d and\u2026. you did not say what you wanted to say?\u00a0 Or\u2026 you said it wrong?<\/p>\n

I know there are times in my life, when I wished I would have told someone how much they meant to me, or how special they were, or what a good job they were doing at something.\u00a0 But\u2026 I let it slide.\u00a0 And for whatever reason, that moment was forever lost.\u00a0 I would never be able to tell them again.<\/p>\n

And it made that pit\u2026. that deep hollow pit\u2026. show up in my stomach.<\/p>\n

Yep.\u00a0 I\u2019ve missed a few times like that.\u00a0 But I have sort of vowed…. never to let it happen again.<\/p>\n

At this point in my life, I will tell you right to your face, how much I think of you.\u00a0 Or what a special person you are.\u00a0 Or how incredible your Pineapple Upside Down Cake is.\u00a0 I sure will.<\/p>\n

Normally, I pass on saying the bad things\u2026 if those ever come up.\u00a0 I figure, I live in a glass house.\u00a0 Throwing stones is against the rules for us folks in glass houses.<\/p>\n

As far as the text-to-talk thing goes\u2026. I\u2019ll probably keep using it.\u00a0 And say things like Carpe Diem.\u00a0 But it will come out like Carp Eat Deep End.\u00a0 That\u2019s okay.\u00a0 I\u2019m begging for it.<\/p>\n

And the other thing.\u00a0 Well, tonight\u2026 I\u2019ll start by telling YOU thanks<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Thanks for reading this, for listening to all my quirky thoughts\u2026 and for being here.\u00a0 It means the world to me…. to be sharing all of this with you.<\/p>\n
