Every now and again, something happens in life\u2026 which is out of the clear blue.\u00a0 And for no apparent reason.<\/p>\n

That \u201csomething\u201d may elicit an emotion, or a response, or even a memory.<\/p>\n

Wouldn\u2019t you know!\u00a0 This happened to me to day.<\/p>\n

I had just washed my car and was in the parking lot, all by myself\u2026 no one else around.\u00a0 And as I was pulling out\u2026 a little purple ball bounced its way in front of my car.\u00a0 Completely out of nowhere.<\/p>\n

Of course I had to retrieve it and have a closer look.\u00a0 It was just a cheap little hollow plastic purple ball.<\/p>\n

And all of a sudden, I was spun back to childhood.\u00a0 Watching some children\u2019s show, on something.\u00a0 And they wanted us to sing along.\u00a0 What did they say?\u00a0 \u201cFollow the bouncing purple ball.\u201d<\/p>\n

The words of the song magically appeared on the TV screen, along with the tune \u201cOld McDonald\u201d\u2026. and out came the purple bouncing ball\u2026. keeping in perfect time\u2026 ALL the words we were supposed to sing.<\/p>\n

Eee – I – Eee – I – Ohhhhhh.\u00a0 And on his farm he had pig.\u00a0 Eee – I – Eee – I – Ohhhhhh.<\/p>\n

Sing, I did.\u00a0 Yes, I sang my little lungs out along with that purple ball.\u00a0 It was all laid right out there for me.\u00a0 Very simple.\u00a0 Very clear.<\/p>\n

So as I sat in the car wash parking lot\u2026. purple ball sitting next to me in the passenger seat\u2026 the question begged.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy can\u2019t all of life be spelled out so clearly, so simple?\u201d\u00a0 The purple ball did not answer.\u00a0 Not a peep.\u00a0 It just sat there on the seat next to me.<\/p>\n

Yet.\u00a0 Maybe it did answer in its own little way.\u00a0 Maybe it was there to tell me that sometimes \u201cthings\u201d happen in life for no apparent reason.\u00a0 The little ball strays from the song\u2026 and hops right across your life\u2026. when you least expect it.\u00a0 It is keeping perfect time.<\/p>\n

And what are we supposed to do?\u00a0 Keep perfect time with it. Accept it for the moment.\u00a0 Follow the little ball\u2026 as it rolls right with us.\u00a0 Don\u2019t try to put it back on the screen of the TV.\u00a0 It came out for a reason\u2026. after all.\u00a0 It has a song to teach us\u2026. and I\u2019m going to sing along.<\/p>\n

In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive vision.\u00a0 \u2014\u00a0 Dalai Lama<\/strong><\/em>
