Some days, really big things happen.\u00a0 Take a little time to consider this.\u00a0 Way, way, way back in 1595, on July 19,\u00a0\u00a0 a guy named Kepler had a revelation of sorts.\u00a0 Yeppers.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Astronomer Johannes Kepler had, what Historians call, an Epiphany.\u00a0 And this big notion developed into his theory of the geometrical basis of the universe.<\/p>\n

These works also provided one of the foundations for Isaac Newton’s theory of universal gravitation.<\/p>\n

But the long and short of it, he figured out that the earth circles the sun, along with all the other planets.\u00a0 He made major strides in other areas, but I won\u2019t bore the crap out of you with all of that.\u00a0 Thank your lucky twinkling stars for that.\u00a0 But his theory met much opposition.\u00a0 He had a rough way to go of it at times, but he knew he worked out the proof of it all.\u00a0 Geometrically.\u00a0 He persisted.<\/p>\n

Okay\u2026 but some days\u2026 historically\u2026 really ROCK.\u00a0 July 19th goes on.\u00a0 It was a big old day for women.\u00a0 Not so terribly long ago, in 1848\u2026.a handful of gals, led mostly by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, organized the very first U.S. Women\u2019s Rights Convention.\u00a0 It was held in Seneca, NY.<\/p>\n

Most of them were Abolitionists, and Social Activists too.\u00a0 They were all about human rights.\u00a0 What a bunch of brave, brave, brave, and very smart women.\u00a0\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t an easy path to take either.\u00a0 But they went out, time after time, and fought for the right thing to do.\u00a0 Amazing.\u00a0\u00a0 And \u2026 looky what happened.\u00a0 I can vote.<\/p>\n

I think there are lessons to be learned in both instances.<\/p>\n

Sometimes in life, we know the right thing to do.\u00a0 We have that \u201cproof\u201d of what is the right way to go.\u00a0 Other times, we get the old \u201cgut feeling\u201d and we know we have to move toward it.<\/p>\n

Either way\u2026 it isn\u2019t always easy to do.\u00a0 But if we know it is righteous \u2026 then any other way just would not be appropriate, or providential.\u00a0 And so we go.\u00a0 Or at least\u2026 I think\u2026 we ought to go.<\/p>\n

Take that path less traveled as Robbie Frost once said\u2026. about that divergent road in the woods.<\/p>\n

And we scamper away down that path.\u00a0 Poison Ivy and all.\u00a0 Mosquitoes.\u00a0 It makes no difference to us.\u00a0 We have our cans of OFF and our Calamine Lotion\u2026 because we dare.\u00a0 We dare to take the road less traveled.\u00a0\u00a0 And we persist until we make it right.<\/p>\n

A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success.\u00a0 —\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em>Elbert Hubbard<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
