How do we define our successes?\u00a0 Well, I guess it depends on who is holding the measuring stick.<\/p>\n
Many different labels abound.<\/p>\n
Society puts so many of these on us.\u00a0 Someone who makes a lot of money, drives nice cars, dresses well, and has a big home\u2026 might be referred to like this.\u00a0 \u201cOh, yes, I know John Bigbritches.\u00a0 He is highly successful.\u201d\u00a0 But, old John Bigbritches may not be very nice, or fair, or compassionate.\u00a0 So.\u00a0 What should we make of that?<\/p>\n
Yes, most the time success is gauged on how much we have\u2026 not necessarily how much we do.<\/p>\n
I think the measuring stick would better be served\u2026 if it directly related to what is important to us.\u00a0 To each individual.<\/p>\n
If all you care about is money, and wealth, and the Golden Ticket, that is your definition and life purpose.<\/p>\n
But I know people who are CRAZY SUCCESSFUL and they drive worn-down cars, and work two jobs, and consider fine dining a night out to Le McDonald\u2019s.\u00a0 For a Le BigMac.<\/p>\n
These people, by my stick, are successful in their spirit.\u00a0 They walk with integrity.\u00a0 They speak the truth.\u00a0 They offer a helping hand.\u00a0 They care about people.\u00a0 Their hearts hold a golden ticket.<\/p>\n
They struggle to make ends meet, but they are the first to offer you a drink from the well.\u00a0 Metaphorically speaking, of course.<\/p>\n
I can only hope, when they lay their heads down at night, that they close their eyes with the satisfaction that they have made another day, good.\u00a0 Good for someone.\u00a0 And I hope somehow, this makes them happy.<\/p>\n
I hope they know\u2026 that their goodness of heart will bring them more success than they every imagined.\u00a0 If they truly believe it.<\/p>\n
It is said\u2026 in more ways than one\u2026 that we will always have what we want\u2026.. IF we want what we have.\u00a0 What we need is what we have.\u00a0 And what we have is what we need.<\/p>\n
Perhaps, coming to this understanding\u2026 IS the success.<\/p>\n
