Tonight, I went out looking for the small.\u00a0 ANYTHING small.\u00a0 I\u2019ll try to explain this as quickly as possible, so please bear with me.<\/p>\n

You see, I had just read an article in Scientific American.\u00a0 It focused on the recent discovery of five very large black holes, by NASA.<\/p>\n

Succinctly\u2026. NASA’s orbiting telescope\u2026 a thing called NuSTAR\u2026.. has found five supermassive black holes that were previously hidden behind clouds of gas and dust.<\/p>\n

This is pretty big friends.\u00a0 We are not talking Circus-Elephant-Big\u2026. we are talking\u2026. END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT BIG.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the deal.\u00a0 Black holes mainly occur after a whopping BIG star\u2026. which is about 10 times larger than our sun\u2026.. explodes.<\/p>\n

Kapow.\u00a0 A huge big sun blows up and sends its matter shooting into the universe.<\/p>\n

And that blown-up-matter condenses into a relatively small space.\u00a0 It becomes this little black sphere about the size of New York City.<\/p>\n

Yet despite its tiny size, the weight of that small sphere has a gravitational force so strong\u2026.. not even light can escape its pull.<\/p>\n

Okay\u2026 are you getting the deal here?\u00a0 And, they are now saying that even though they have recently discovered five\u2026 there are millions out \u201cthere\u201d.<\/p>\n

And it gets worse\u2026. at least in my mind\u2026 it gets WAY worse.\u00a0 It has to do with Dark Matter\u2026..\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Here is the \u201cwhat.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 Dark matter cannot be viewed by any piece of technology, but scientists are certain it’s there.\u00a0 This scares the peanut butter me.<\/p>\n

Dark matter is believed to take up 80 per cent of matter in the universe, according to a study to be published in The Astrophysical Journal.\u00a0 This scares me even more.<\/p>\n

This Dark Matter makes up 80% of the Universe\u2026 and we can\u2019t view it\u2026.\u00a0\u00a0 Arggggghhhhhh.\u00a0 YOU have GOT to be kidding me.<\/p>\n

And YOU don\u2019t think things go BUMP in the night?\u00a0 Blame it on scary Dark Matter which is EVERYWHERE\u2026. and WE just can\u2019t put our finger on it.<\/p>\n

So tonight\u2026 I went looking for anything small.\u00a0 You see\u2026.\u00a0 I was hyperventilating after I read the article\u2026 I had cold sweats\u2026 and dizziness\u2026.., and I needed to connect with anything SMALL.\u00a0 Like\u2026. a\u00a0 Little Who in Whoville.<\/p>\n

I found a gnat.\u00a0 It was one of those pesky little things which nip at you relentlessly\u2026.at dusk.\u00a0 The little Dude was drowning in our bird bath.\u00a0 It couldn\u2019t get a grip on a leaf. Clearly it was struggling beyond its own belief.<\/p>\n

So I saved that little gnat.\u00a0 Lifted him right out of the water and watched him fly away.<\/p>\n

And suddenly\u2026\u2026\u00a0 I could breathe again.<\/p>\n

Albeit\u2026.. he did fly off into all that Dark Matter.\u00a0 But nonetheless.\u00a0 He flew away without nipping at me\u2026<\/p>\n

I think I\u2019ll be okay.<\/p>\n
