How is it, we get the unexplainable \u201ctear in our eye?\u201d\u00a0 You catch a glimpse of something, like a small child reaching for someone\u2019s hand in a moment of sharing.\u00a0 Or maybe you hear a phrase from a song that evokes that little \u201csomething\u201d in your heart\u2026 and before you know it\u2026 that little tear appears.\u00a0 A breathtaking sunset, a story on the news, a passage from a book, the perfect peanut-butter-and-banana-sandwich on Wonder Bread with the crusts cut off.\u00a0 That’s right.<\/p>\n

Yes.\u00a0 Those are the sort of things that cause that little tear to magically appear.<\/p>\n

I have a theory about how this happens.\u00a0 Of course I do.\u00a0 I have theories about everything.\u00a0 Pathetic.<\/p>\n

Anyway\u2026 it involves a whole bunch of little dudes inside of us\u2026 tiny little dudes.\u00a0 And they have a tiny little pump apparatus\u2026\u00a0 which looks like one of those see-saw deals\u2026.. and when they get a signal\u2026<\/p>\n

OK\u2026I am JERKING YOU AROUND right now.\u00a0 I have theories\u2026YES. But I\u2019m not totally whacky.<\/p>\n

My theory is this.\u00a0 Miracles.<\/p>\n

I know I\u2019ve mentioned them before.\u00a0 But my postulation follows.\u00a0 Miracles are everywhere.\u00a0 They are every day.\u00a0 Yes. Most certainly, they are extraordinary in every way.\u00a0 We simply need to notice.<\/p>\n

They can take shape in so many different forms of being.\u00a0 I do not think they come from thunder above in the clouds.\u00a0 But they enter our lives in a more subtle approach.\u00a0 It happens at that moment when you can see, and hear, and experience\u2026 like you never have before\u2026 and never will again.<\/p>\n

That is how each moment of our lives go…. by the way.\u00a0 Things happen like they never have before or never will again\u2026. but I digress.\u00a0 Back to the box of miracles.<\/p>\n

They touch a place inside of us.\u00a0 A place we know\u2026 has always been there\u2026 but the little (or big) miracle has stirred it awake.\u00a0 And when it does, we get that tear in our eyes, or a grin on our faces, or the tingle in our spines.<\/p>\n

We come a step closer to knowing ourselves, and our purpose.\u00a0 And that is where miracles are born.<\/p>\n

Tonight, I finally saw one of our Mama Deer with her fawn.\u00a0 I stood in awe as I watched the two of them, carefully frolic through our field, and into the Houdini-Land of the trees.\u00a0 My heart swelled.<\/p>\n

As it is…. with the bird on the branch in the rain, or our old gal Maxine.\u00a0 It could be an unexpected gift in the mail, or a comment of encouragement.\u00a0 Any of those things…. are… …\u00a0 the touch of life\u2026. which reaches out in that moment of sharing.\u00a0\u00a0 In sharing our hearts with the greater good of it all.<\/p>\n
