I couldn\u2019t take it any more.\u00a0 I just HAD to make the phone call.\u00a0 You see, I had seen the commercial at least 100 times before.\u00a0 And this morning during the Early Show News, I heard it again.<\/p>\n

So I dropped everything and pulled out my phone.\u00a0\u00a0 I had the number in my contact list, and dialed away.\u00a0\u00a0 I was a little bit nervous\u2026 as I wasn\u2019t even sure what I was asking about.\u00a0 Does it help me to change?\u00a0 Or get smart?\u00a0 Or does it help me to grow?\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t sure.\u00a0 But THIS question had be answered\u2026. so I made that call.<\/p>\n

I had dialed my doctor\u2019s office.\u00a0\u00a0 The receptionist on the other end of the line finally answered.\u00a0 \u201cCan I help you?\u201d<\/p>\n

To which I responded\u2026 \u201cWhy.\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 I\u2019m calling to see if Latuda is right for me.\u201d\u00a0 After getting up all that nerve\u2026 to ask the question\u2026\u00a0 \u2026 well\u2026. we got cut off.\u00a0 I think.\u00a0 I heard a click\u2026 and then a dial tone.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t even know what Latuda is.\u00a0 But I don\u2019t think I want to be right for it.\u00a0 I can\u2019t stand the name of it.\u00a0 Can you imagine at parties.. how awkward that would be in conversation.\u00a0 \u201cPolly, what\u2019s new with you?\u201d\u00a0 \u201cOh\u2026 not much\u2026 but Latuda is right for me.\u00a0 I asked.\u00a0 It is.\u00a0 And there you have it.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not like saying you went Zip-Lining\u2026 or Sky-Diving\u2026 or anything cool like that.\u00a0 No.\u00a0 It almost like saying\u2026 \u201cWell\u2026 for fun \u2026 I cut my toenails on Friday night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Except\u2026 apparently\u2026 this Latuda Thing is risky business if it turns out to be right for you.\u00a0 The commercial tells YOU to tell your doctor about any movements you cannot control in your face, tongue, or other body parts, as they may be signs of Tardive dyskinesia (TD).<\/p>\n

And this TD thing is a big serious sledge hammer. It is a serious and sometimes permanent side effect. TD may not go away, even if you stop taking LATUDA.\u00a0\u00a0 There are about 50 other side effects too.<\/p>\n

LATUDA can affect your judgment, thinking, and motor skills.<\/p>\n

How could it be right for me?\u00a0 I really don\u2019t want uncontrollable movements in my face\u2026 or my tongue\u2026 or any other body part for that matter.\u00a0 I have trouble enough controlling these things without Latuda.\u00a0 Especially my bladder.<\/p>\n

Oh.\u00a0 But here is the thing.\u00a0 This THING is no different than any other thing.\u00a0 How do we truly no ANYTHING is right for us.\u00a0 Sure, some times we get a feeling in our gut\u2026. or in other cases\u2026. we have a well-educated-guess.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But there is not such thing as a sure thing.\u00a0 No safe bets.\u00a0 No guarantees.<\/p>\n

Life is full of uncertainties\u2026. full of hits or misses.\u00a0 And uncontrollable movements in our faces.<\/p>\n

The best we can do\u2026 is our best.\u00a0 It is great when we know what is right for us, and it works.\u00a0 But in the cases where it doesn\u2019t\u2026 that is okay too.\u00a0 There is a lesson to be learned\u2026 which in turn\u2026 helps us to grow.\u00a0 And when we are growing\u2026 we are facing the right direction\u2026. toward the sun.<\/p>\n

….\u00a0 ….. …. Dag nab it.\u00a0 Now it is happening again.\u00a0\u00a0 I can’t believe it’s not butter.\u00a0\u00a0 Here.\u00a0 All this time! I thought it was butter.\u00a0 … …. ….\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ……….<\/p>\n
