I like things that have a staying power.\u00a0 Especially “things” I like.<\/p>\n

Okay\u2026 what do I mean exactly?<\/p>\n

Well, I am drawn to those parts of life which seem true, and long lasting.\u00a0 The things you can count on.\u00a0 Your dog.\u00a0 Your watch.\u00a0 Your watchdog.<\/p>\n

That appliance which has worked for 38 years now, and still\u2026. going strong.\u00a0 A good old album by your favorite Rock Group.\u00a0 Mount Rushmore.<\/p>\n

Some things are fleeting.\u00a0 Those things which fall into the \u201cFlash in the Pan\u201d Category.\u00a0 For instance, how about that Gangnam Style Guy?\u00a0 The one with the giddy-up dance, and slicky hair.\u00a0 I for one am glad he\u2019s not at the forefront of popular media attention any longer.<\/p>\n

Furbies.\u00a0 Poodle Skirts.\u00a0 Fried Everything.\u00a0 Milli Vanilli and Scritti Politti.\u00a0 Those sorts of things.<\/p>\n

Then there are times when something seems to last forever and you don\u2019t want it to.\u00a0 The Flu.\u00a0 Poison Ivy.\u00a0 Bad Hair.<\/p>\n

So, yes.\u00a0 Those things with staying power \u2026. which I like.\u00a0 The main thing that comes to mind are people.\u00a0 Those certain individuals in our lives, who are there through thick and thin, high and low, fast and slow.\u00a0 The True Blues.\u00a0 The Tried and Trues.\u00a0 Pallies.\u00a0 Buds. A few select friends.\u00a0 A few select family.<\/p>\n

And if we are lucky enough to have them in our lives\u2026 we should be thankful.\u00a0 Grateful for them, and for every moment we share with them. They will always be there in spirit\u2026\u00a0 but sometimes the moments have a way of slipping by.<\/p>\n

Life is so full of this\u2026.\u00a0 this series of times when our hearts are filled to the fullest\u2026 and other times when they are emptied beyond belief.\u00a0\u00a0 Those hearts of ours.<\/p>\n

And… that Staying Power.\u00a0 Is what I like.<\/p>\n
