\"GOLDFISH\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I love a good upset.\u00a0 Last week there\u00a0 was Duke vs. Wake Forest.\u00a0 And today, Oregon and Arizona\u00a0 But that’s College Basketball.<\/p>\n

Yet… there is a lot to be said for getting behind the Underdog and rooting them through to the finish line.\u00a0\u00a0 Oh yeah.\u00a0 High fives all around.<\/p>\n

But “Good Upset” is a bit of any Oxymoron isn’t it?<\/p>\n

I’ll tell you when I don’t love a good upset.\u00a0 When it happens to me.<\/p>\n

As life would have it… there are times when we have to deal with people or things that don’t “want” to deal with.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And as you might expect… it can be quite upsetting.\u00a0\u00a0 And some people have much bigger challenges than others.<\/p>\n

Yet, most of the time, we push through it.\u00a0 We do what we have to do and get on with it.<\/p>\n

I once met someone who had an answer for this.\u00a0 Two minutes.<\/p>\n

She was a lawyer from Chicago.\u00a0 Whenever an unpleasant task rolled around… she would just say… “Oh, it will just take you two minutes.”<\/p>\n

And. Done.<\/p>\n

At first blush, everything may not seem that cut and dry.\u00a0 But there is a lot to be said for this attitude.\u00a0 It is called staying in the moment.<\/p>\n

“I just am doing ‘this thing’ or ‘that’ for this moment.”\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One minute at a time.<\/p>\n

And sometimes that is all we can do… to get through whatever the “deal” is.<\/p>\n

Today I lost my good pal Ernestine.\u00a0 She was carefree, and beautiful.\u00a0 She seemed to be incredible at swimming through life with out a care… at living in the moment.\u00a0 No expectations, or worries.\u00a0\u00a0 She had a graceful and fluid way of navigating each day.\u00a0\u00a0 I am going to miss Ernestine dearly.\u00a0 She used to come right up to the surface and eat out of my hand.\u00a0 Sounded like a little piggy.<\/p>\n

Oh yeah…. Ernestine was my favorite fish. … …. about a 25-pound Koi.\u00a0 Gone forever.\u00a0 Dead in the water… no pun intended.<\/p>\n

I had to slug my way down there to the pond and pull her out.\u00a0 Slimy dead fish… are very difficult to pull out of a semi-frozen body of water.<\/p>\n

So… as unpleasant as that task may have been for me…\u00a0 a couple of things became very apparent.<\/p>\n

I simply had to push through this nasty task.
\nAnd… it was WAY worse for Ernestine than it was for me.<\/p>\n

Yep…. a little bit of an upset.<\/p>\n

But I was rooting for the Underdog…\u00a0\u00a0 all the way.\u00a0 All the way.<\/p>\n
