Dag nab it, I\u2019ll tell you.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t solve the puzzle \u201cFast-Forward\u201d<\/em> on the Wheel of Fortune tonight.\u00a0 I think I was standing WAY too close to the TV. You see, I was fixing dinner, and was rooting around in the cupboard below the counter\u2026\u00a0 I looked up and saw the blank squares.\u00a0 But I couldn\u2019t see all the parts which were filled in.\u00a0\u00a0 And then\u2026. it happened\u2026.. \u2026Mary beat me to the draw.\u00a0 She got it first.<\/p>\n

I was standing TOO dang close.\u00a0 (Ohhhh\u2026 never admit defeat\u2026 always come up with a creative excuse.\u00a0 Right?\u00a0 Not right. …..\u00a0 …But that is another story for another night.)<\/p>\n

To continue with my first observation.<\/p>\n

All of a sudden it hit me.\u00a0 I really was standing too close.<\/p>\n

Sometimes we are faced with puzzles in our lives.\u00a0 Or problems, or situations, or things we have to figure out.\u00a0 And sometimes, we are just standing TOO whip-nilly close to the situation.\u00a0 We simple can\u2019t see the bigger picture.<\/p>\n

As the old saying goes, you can\u2019t see the forest for the trees.\u00a0 I get it now.<\/p>\n

I have a few things in my life right now that I think I have to figure out.\u00a0 Maybe I am standing too close.\u00a0 Maybe I need to take a few steps back, and take in the big story, the entire show, the whole shebang.<\/p>\n

Yet, I know sometimes it is important to get way up close and augment things too. Like when you are trying to fish a splinter out of the skin on your little finger, with a needle and a magnifying glass.<\/p>\n

The trick of it\u2026 for all of us\u2026 \u2026. is to know the difference.\u00a0 Do w get way up close, or look at something from afar?<\/p>\n

I guess it depends on the size of the matter in front of us.<\/p>\n

If and when it happens ….. I wish we could all see it clearly, no matter\u00a0 “the what”<\/em> of it is.<\/p>\n

Like on a clear day\u2026 you can see for ever.\u00a0 And ever.\u00a0 And ever.\u00a0 And ever more.<\/p>\n
