You may not believe this.<\/p>\n

But here it is.\u00a0 YOU are a very important part of this Universe. \u00a0<\/em>
\nI know I have said this before, but a lot of people before me\u2026 who are a lot smarter than I\u2026 have been saying the same thing.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, this is hard for me to believe, or perhaps\u2026 difficult to comprehend. Sometimes, I consider all the 7.15 billion people in the world, and I begin to feel very small.<\/p>\n

Yet, many people subscribe to the idea that each one of us\u2026 YOU, ME, WE\u2026. are significant in this existence.\u00a0 This Universe.<\/p>\n

There is a great paper written by a guy name Charles Eisenstein.\u00a0 He talks about the Story of Separation vs. the New Intention.\u00a0 This New Story is one of Interbeing; meaning that we are all basically in this together\u2026 this big thing we call life.<\/p>\n

This study has many Principles and Levels to it.\u00a0\u00a0 But essentially it is this.\u00a0 Our very being is connected with all beings.\u00a0 Our very existence is relational.\u00a0 Because of that, WHAT we do to one another, we also do to ourselves.\u00a0 Each one of our acts, is significant to the overall effect on the cosmos.<\/p>\n

You know, we also, each one of us, have a unique and necessary gift to offer the world.\u00a0 I believe a big part of our purpose in\u00a0 life is to express our gifts.\u00a0 We truly all are connected\u2026 in our humanness.\u00a0 In our spirituality, recognized or not.<\/p>\n

If you still don\u2019t believe it, think about things in scientific terms.\u00a0 The interconnected and interdependent nature of things is the heart of ecology.\u00a0 The big farm pond is dependent on the fish, the frogs, the insects, the rocks, the plants, each little part of the water\u2026. and they\u2026 all dependent on each other and the pond.<\/p>\n

That is us.\u00a0 The fish.\u00a0 Except, I want to be the frogs.<\/p>\n

But back to it\u2026.<\/p>\n

So our existence is not a distinct and separable phenomenon. Genuine compassion, should be easy for us.\u00a0 Theoretically.\u00a0 You see\u2026 again\u2026.. our actions effect everything, including ourselves.<\/p>\n

The 19th-century conservationist John Muir sought out the VERY same principle: \u2018When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe.\u2019<\/p>\n

For ecologists, it is the fundamental rule.\u00a0 For us too.\u00a0 Our spirituality, our being, our heart\u2026.. whether you call it connectedness, inseparability or, equal association\u2026. there we are.<\/p>\n

We may feel like we stand alone, as a singular person.\u00a0 But in fact we stand together.\u00a0 Like drops of water in the pond.\u00a0 Every ripple, moves to the next\u2026 and back again.<\/p>\n

Be kind today. \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It helps the world.\u00a0 It is good for the universe.<\/p>\n

We are all hitched together, after all.<\/p>\n
