I once knew this kid who would put her fingers in her mouth\u2026the pinky and the pointer\u2026 and then she would whistle like crazy.\u00a0 Loudly.\u00a0 Cooly.\u00a0 I was nine.\u00a0 I wanted to whistle like this when I was nine years old \u2026 but as hard as I tried\u2026 nothing would come out by blustery air.<\/p>\n

Now, I am several decades older.\u00a0 And I still can\u2019t whistle like this.<\/p>\n

A lot of the things I have tried in life.. I can \u201cget\u201d pretty quickly.\u00a0 This whistling thing is not.\u00a0 Neither is snow skiing, sewing, or Advanced Calculus.\u00a0 Making precise use of the differential notations in math leaves me\u2026.. well\u2026. a bit indifferent.\u00a0 Empty.\u00a0 Feeling negative.\u00a0 (Okay, all joking aside\u2026 back to it.)<\/p>\n

On the other hand, there are things I can do with ease.\u00a0 Bird Watching. Sweeping the kitchen floor.\u00a0 Making Poached Eggs.\u00a0 All very useful skills at times.\u00a0 They are just not whistling, sewing, or Calculus.<\/p>\n

Yes we all have different talents.\u00a0 But we all have different aspirations too.<\/p>\n

And sometimes, our own individual talents don\u2019t quite match up with our talents.\u00a0 For instance\u2026 have you ever seen the show\u2026 American Idol.\u00a0 There are some people with some serious ambitions there\u2026 but a tiny bit short on the talent.<\/p>\n

I think when the two things line up in a person, you have those that excel past the rest.\u00a0 The Presidents.\u00a0 The Rock Stars.\u00a0 Those Rocket Scientists.\u00a0 And Super Athletes.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You get the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Julia Child, Lebron James, and Lady Gaga.<\/p>\n

But just because one isn\u2019t famous\u2026 doesn\u2019t mean they are on the high scale of things.\u00a0 I think luck has a lot to do with fame.<\/p>\n

Yep\u2026 every day\u2026 I meet (and KNOW) people who are wildly talented at what they do.\u00a0 I stand in awe sometimes.\u00a0 The innovators, and idea makers.\u00a0 The problem solvers and the peace keepers.\u00a0 Good plumbers, and excellent cooks.\u00a0 Gardeners, and bee keepers.<\/p>\n

We all bring something different to the table.\u00a0 We all contribute to this life in numerous ways.\u00a0\u00a0 We are unique and distinct.\u00a0 It is good this way.\u00a0 In such\u2026. we need each other.\u00a0 And needing one another is a part of being human.\u00a0 For that is what humans do.\u00a0 Not only do we need one another\u2026 but we can be there for others.\u00a0 And that is a beautiful thing.<\/p>\n

Especially if you need someone to poach your eggs.<\/p>\n
