Luck.<\/p>\n

Does it exist?\u00a0 Is luck real?<\/p>\n

Or is everything going according to some great predetermined master plan.\u00a0 Has it all been mapped out with some predestination of the universe, or written in a Golden Book somewhere, scribed in Golden Letters?<\/p>\n

People seem to believe in luck, or lack there of.\u00a0 So many take heed on Friday the 13th, sidestep a ladder on the sidewalk, or the black cat walking.<\/p>\n

The good luck side of it is just as strong.\u00a0 Take Las Vegas for example.\u00a0 Now the people who OWN Las Vegas bank on the odds.\u00a0 But the people GOING to Las Vegas are putting their belief in Good-Luckiness.\u00a0 Same with the Lottery.\u00a0 The folk’s popping the balls from the hopper are well-aware of the probability ratio. The one’s holding tickets have their faith in good luck.<\/p>\n

But is it real?<\/p>\n

I can’t say for sure.\u00a0 I tend to believe it is true.\u00a0 I mean, some people “seem” luckier than others.\u00a0 Yet, could it be that mapped out plan just taking its course?\u00a0 It complicates things either way.<\/p>\n

Stephen Hawking once noted, “I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.”<\/p>\n

See what I mean…?\u00a0 But it gets even stickier… I’ll tell you.<\/p>\n

Chris Pine said…. “I believe in luck and fate and I believe in karma, that the energy you put out in the world comes back to meet you.”<\/p>\n

Either way.\u00a0\u00a0 The answer is this.\u00a0 In our very limited human brains, we will probably never know one way or the other.\u00a0 Has our life been determined since the Big-Bang-Kaboomed?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What if we find a penny face up on the sidewalk… or step on a crack while we are strolling down that same sidewalk…. is it going to figure into the way the rest of the day plays out?<\/p>\n

I couldn’t say for sure.<\/p>\n

I do know this.\u00a0 Most of the time… when someone asks you to “Wish Them Luck”… they are preparing to take an unnecessary risk.\u00a0 Like going over the Niagara Falls in a barrel.\u00a0 Or jumping from a plane with a parachute on.<\/p>\n

Here is the thing though….There is a lot to be said for good old common sense.\u00a0 A good solid decision based on former experience or knowledge. \u00a0\u00a0 Maybe we have been asking for the wrong thing… all along?\u00a0 Perhaps instead of saying… “Wish me luck.” …. we should say… “Wish me Good Sense.”<\/p>\n
