\"horizon\"<\/a>Gray.\u00a0 It really is a good color.\u00a0 Suits.\u00a0 Certain nun’s habits.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Yet sometimes… a good color gets a bad name.<\/p>\n

The Scarlet Letter… for one.\u00a0 Black Sunday.\u00a0 Blue Lagoon.\u00a0 The Red Dragon.\u00a0\u00a0 Now whenever I hear Gray, one of the first things that comes to mind is the recent color association in literature….\u00a0 “50 Shades of Gray”<\/p>\n

I haven’t read the book, “50 Shades of Gray” and I have not seen the movie.\u00a0 I don’t much plan on either.\u00a0 It simply does not appeal to me…<\/p>\n

Critical reception of Fifty Shades of Grey has been generally negative…. with most critics noting poor literary qualities of the work.\u00a0\u00a0 Sir Salman Rushdie said about the book: “I’ve never read anything so badly written that got published. It made Twilight look like War and Peace.” Maureen Dowd described the book in The New York Times as being written “like a Bronte devoid of talent,” and said it was “dull and poorly written.”<\/p>\n

So, beside the bad reviews…. it is not a big priority of mine to learn about other’s escapades.\u00a0 At least those kind.<\/p>\n

I mean, I always dislike when I see two people slobbering all over one another in public.\u00a0 That old PDA…. Public Display of Affection.\u00a0\u00a0 Sidebar here:\u00a0\u00a0 I think displaying affection is just fine in public.\u00a0 I think having the next closest thing to intercourse… right there on the corner of 5th & Elm… is not so okay.\u00a0 Just my little opinion.\u00a0 There is no right or wrong here.<\/p>\n

And holy smokes … THAT was my whole point when I started writing.\u00a0 Gray.\u00a0 That entire middle value between black and white.\u00a0 If fact, I think there are WAY more than 50 shades.<\/p>\n

For any topic, subject, controversy, or opinion under the sun…\u00a0 there is a big\u00a0 gray area.\u00a0 No Black.\u00a0 No White.\u00a0 That’s what I think, at least.<\/p>\n

I think once people quit drawing lines in the sand, once they quit seeing things as this way OR that…\u00a0 we might have a big chance of living on this ball all together… . as humans first… and everything else to follow.<\/p>\n

But …. we all seem to be right.\u00a0 It is clear cut.\u00a0 Black and White.\u00a0\u00a0 And therein lies the problem.\u00a0 I am right for sure.\u00a0 Oh….\u00a0 and so are you.\u00a0 Until YOU think you are right about something that doesn’t jive with MY right thing.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And there goes that stinking line in the sand.<\/p>\n

The Planetary “Big Agreement” is…. of course… some sort of Utopian Dream State.\u00a0 It will most likely never happen without the entire human race experiencing some sort of elevated enlightened awareness.<\/p>\n

But until then… perhaps… all of us can take the time to see a little more gray.\u00a0 More than 50 shades.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All it takes is shining a little more light on the subject…. and from all different sides.\u00a0 You will see amazing shadows… amazing shades of gray… but also tremendous highlights.<\/p>\n

Or… you could just go see the movie.<\/p>\n
