I started my good day with a whole bunch of Rock Lovers.<\/p>\n

Yes.\u00a0 Today was the Rock and Gem Show over in Richmond, Indiana.\u00a0 I had a couple of great companions and away we went…. rock hammers in hand.<\/p>\n

I have to admit, in all my years of being totally fascinated with rocks… this was my first experience with a “Show.”\u00a0 I didn’t know quite what to expect.\u00a0 Would they have people there… dressed up like Rock Hudson, Kid Rock, and Rocky Balboa?<\/p>\n

Or would they pipe in music by the Rolling Stones?\u00a0 Or would any Rock-n-Roll do?\u00a0 Were they all going to be from Boulder, Colorado… or maybe Little Rock, Arkansas?\u00a0 I took a quick survey… and not a one of them lived in a Glass House…. that is for sure.<\/p>\n

But as it turns out… it was like a really like a big sale.\u00a0 A dang big rock sale.\u00a0 Rocks of all shapes and sizes.\u00a0 Crystal, meteorites, gems, fossils, moon rocks, jewelry, trinkets, and more.<\/p>\n

I was foaming at the mouth I’ll tell you.\u00a0 I was like a kid in a candy store, a pig in the mud, a drug addict at pharmacy school.<\/p>\n

My first mistake, was being a little TOO interested.\u00a0 The first booth was devoted to meteorites.\u00a0 Now don’t get me wrong.\u00a0 I was completely interested in learning about those rocks.\u00a0 In fact, just a couple of days ago, I was distracted with thinking about how one might tell a meteorite from all the other rocks.\u00a0 I figured the meteor thing was scam-ish.<\/p>\n

But low and behold, I REALLY learned about how to tell the difference between meteorites and all the other lowly breeds of rocks.\u00a0\u00a0 WAY TOO MUCH information, in fact.\u00a0 I decided at that point, to curb my enthusiasm just a pinch.<\/p>\n

From there on, it was Rock Heaven.\u00a0 I walked out of there with about 20 pounds of crystals, fossils, and… well… rocks.\u00a0 My favorite, is a little deal from Morocco.\u00a0 It is Vanadinite on Barite.<\/p>\n

Of course, I had to look both of them up when I arrived home. Vanadinite is an excellent crystal for writers who want to get a lot done.\u00a0 Apparently…. it will stimulate an individual mentally …. and will help to improve energy levels in order to achieve\u00a0 goals.<\/p>\n

Good for me.\u00a0 I think I am achieving goals as we speak…. ones I don’t even know about.<\/p>\n

The other was Barite.\u00a0 Barite is well-known for its great range of colors and varied crystal forms and habits.\u00a0\u00a0 I can only imagine what kinds of habits it has… does it drink and smoke… or leave its socks on the bathroom floor… or drink milk right out of the carton?<\/p>\n

This Barite sounds a little more complicated to me.\u00a0 Time will tell.<\/p>\n

Which just goes to show you.\u00a0 I had no idea what I would find going in…. and as it turns out… I am a better woman for it.\u00a0 A Rock Show can really open up your world.\u00a0 Sort of like cracking open a Geode.<\/p>\n

Perhaps every situation can teach us something… about something.\u00a0 In fact I am pretty sure that is true.\u00a0 We just have to be willing to figure it out.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sometimes those lessons will be hard as rock… other times… they will be crystal clear.\u00a0 You just don’t know what to expect at the Rock Show of Life.<\/p>\n
