New experiences.\u00a0 They can go either way really…. good or bad.\u00a0\u00a0 Or even somewhere in between.\u00a0 But I believe it is a necessary part of growth for us to take part in new experiences. But setting that aside….<\/p>\n

Tonight, we went to a hockey game.\u00a0 Is it a hockey game, or a match?\u00a0 Whichever.\u00a0 The Miami University RedHawks played North Dakota.\u00a0 I have been to two hockey games in my life, prior to this.\u00a0 The first was a long time ago.\u00a0 The Dayton Gems played someone…. at Hara Arena.\u00a0 I think I was in the 2nd or 3rd game, and I went with my pal Jana and some of her family.\u00a0 A hockey puck almost hit us that night.\u00a0 It scared the snot right out of my nose.\u00a0 That is all I remember about it… other than it was noisy and busy.\u00a0 The second game was less remarkable.\u00a0 Adulthood.\u00a0 Professional hockey game… where we watched\u00a0 people fight and drink.<\/p>\n

This evening was a lot more fun.\u00a0 The venue was great.\u00a0 We went with our friends Mike and Donna Simpson.\u00a0 Not a one of us is a hockey fan, but I think we would have enjoyed ourselves no matter what we were watching.<\/p>\n

But we all liked to watch different things.\u00a0 I like NFL and College Basketball.\u00a0 Donna likes high school basketball.\u00a0 Mike is a baseball fan.\u00a0 Mary likes to watch anything he family is watching.<\/p>\n

All of us are fans of different things.\u00a0 Not necessarily sports either.\u00a0 Some people love Broadway Musicals, other like Garden Shows, and some people might just be crazy for Chocolate Souffle’.\u00a0 We could all be fanatical about something or another… that is for sure.<\/p>\n

At any rate… the Miami University Redhawks… were defeated by North Dakota University.\u00a0 1-2.\u00a0 But the saddest thing about the night, falls with North Dakota.\u00a0 They don’t have a dang mascot.\u00a0 Nadda.\u00a0 Zero. Zippo. Zilch.\u00a0 So cheering for the team is a heck of a problem, by my estimation.\u00a0 Gooooooooooooo North Dakota University.\u00a0 Like…..\u00a0 every time they have to say this.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No catchy phrases, or goofy hats.\u00a0 Just go North Dakota University.<\/p>\n

Miami lost to North Dakota.\u00a0 By a score of 1-2.\u00a0 Apparently, the no-name-mascot-thing hasn’t hindered them any.\u00a0 They are ranked number one.<\/p>\n

But I am off track.\u00a0 As I looked around the arena this evening, and saw all those fans, cheering wildly for those teams…. it reminded me that world is full of people with unique perspectives and passions in life.\u00a0 And that is a good thing.\u00a0 It makes the planet an interesting place, and full of diversity, and life.\u00a0 It might put us in a good spiritual space,\u00a0 to embrace others’ interests, likes, and dislikes.\u00a0 They do not have to match ours…. to be grand.<\/p>\n

And that is all I am thinking of this evening.\u00a0 Hockey, Ice Skates, Body-Checks, and Spiritual-Checks.<\/p>\n

So now… I think it best… If I make like a Hockey Player…. and get the Puck out of here.<\/p>\n
