Accept your Relatives.
\nBut, I think I should explain.<\/p>\n

Relative can be a lot of things.<\/p>\n

When you consider the noun-ish version of the word… it could go in a number of directions.\u00a0\u00a0 For instance… a relative could be a person connected by blood or marriage.\u00a0 You know… Uncle Herman.\u00a0 Your Mother-In-Law.\u00a0 a Brother…… and on.\u00a0 (Or it could speak to\u00a0 a species related to another by common origin….\u00a0 similar to a plant… or an animal. )<\/p>\n

But the adjective… the main version of the adjective is my concern tonight.\u00a0 Relative.\u00a0\u00a0 Something which is considered in relation or in proportion to something else…… you know.\u00a0\u00a0 Like Einstein said…. a something which is\u00a0 existing or possessing a specified characteristic….. only in comparison to something else.\u00a0 Not absolute.<\/p>\n

So today it was very, very windy here.\u00a0\u00a0 Such….. that it was very difficult to even walk outside.\u00a0\u00a0 In fact, most things around here were completely deserted…. with the exception of an occasional-crazy-windsurfer.<\/p>\n

And here it where RELATIVE fits in.\u00a0\u00a0 When you are used to being in this nice-weathered paradise… today might be considered to be a complete drag.\u00a0 A TOTAL “Let Down”…. if you will.\u00a0 On the other hand, in comparison to the -20 degrees below zero weather in Ohio…. THIS is NOT so bad.<\/p>\n

Now the “Accept” part.\u00a0 You see… there is no changing this wind.\u00a0 It is mighty.\u00a0 And strong.\u00a0 YOU could stand on that beach facing the ocean…. …. filled with anger….. screaming at the top of your lungs…. “STOP WIND.\u00a0 I command you to stop.”<\/p>\n

But that wind would continue.\u00a0 It would keep on blowing as forceful as ever.
\nIt might make you more angry that the wind paid no attention to you.\u00a0 And the day would be filled with angst.<\/p>\n

On the other hand… if we simply accept those things we cannot change… they become less difficult.\u00a0 When we realize that is is -20 degrees somewhere else… or in another place… there has been no rain in 6 months…. or worse yet…. when we remember there are places where people are dying from mass genocide….\u00a0 well, then.\u00a0\u00a0 That wind is not so bad.\u00a0 And we accept.
\nWe Accept our “Relatives”…. and we find peace.<\/p>\n
