We protect ourselves.\u00a0 This is a huge part of life.
\nWe have that precious part of us that we want to keep safe.\u00a0 That little gem inside of us which is always…. “Right” and “Knowing.”<\/p>\n

You see, today I was thinking about people changing their minds.<\/p>\n

I wondered why changing our minds is often so difficult.\u00a0 After all, everything is constantly changing.\u00a0 And…. the world and our view of it….. are constantly changing.\u00a0 There is never a circumstance which remains the same and static and motionless.<\/p>\n

But why in the heck do we sometimes resist the fact that our responses might be subject to change.\u00a0 How can they be forever locked in their origins?<\/p>\n

Sometimes….. we seem to demand steadiness and consistency… that lethal stagnated static.\u00a0 And we do this….\u00a0 even when it makes no sense.\u00a0 And most of the time…. WE like people to change their minds only when it benefits us.<\/p>\n

A big part of this… could be…. I think…. that we get attached to answers like we do possessions.<\/p>\n

Once we give someone an answer….. it is\u00a0 no longer\u00a0 just a little answer.\u00a0 Once we have said it out loud…..\u00a0 dag gone it…. it is OUR answer.\u00a0 We’ve committed.\u00a0 We now start becoming emotionally biased in favor of this incredible answer of OURS…. even if it isn’t quite on track.<\/p>\n

IT seems we become very resistant to changing our minds because our answer has become part of who we are.\u00a0\u00a0 So… don’t question the answer… otherwise you are questioning me….. and this becomes a threat.<\/p>\n

Well, dag nab it… today…. I am going to try to switch this up.\u00a0 I’m going to realize that I am not always right.\u00a0 None of us are.\u00a0 And all and all and all of everything changes.\u00a0 So it is okay… to change our minds.\u00a0 It doesn’t make us weak.\u00a0 Or wafflers.\u00a0 It just makes us human.\u00a0 And that is a good thing to be.<\/p>\n
