Goldmines.\u00a0 I’ll tell you.\u00a0 Goldmines.<\/p>\n

Tonight, it felt like being surrounded with nothing but treasure.\u00a0 We had family over this evening, and all I can say is… “What Superbowl?”<\/p>\n

Oh sure, we had the game on, and we kind of watched.\u00a0 But the best part of the night… besides the pizza, and all the snacks….\u00a0 and some of the commercials…. especially the one with the horses and the puppy….. was being with those wonderful people.<\/p>\n

I know you get my drift.\u00a0 So I won’t go on.\u00a0 But it was golden.<\/p>\n

I probably only saw about a quarter of the game, if that.\u00a0 And only a couple of commercials.\u00a0 But tonight, as I started making some of the snack-happiness-or-dervies, I pulled out a container of Kraft French Onion Dip.<\/p>\n

Now… I have to tell you… somebody at Kraft must have thought they had a genius and awe-inspiring moment.\u00a0 There, on the lid of the container… is a picture of a potato chip with dip on it…. and right beside that image… are the words…<\/p>\n

…. ….. “Serving Suggestion”.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Yep.\u00a0 Old Floyd Clemmens… he’s been with Kraft for nearly 3 decades… leapt from his desk one day… ran into Mr. Jenkin’s corner office, and announced … “I’ve GOT IT!\u00a0 Let’s put the words Serving Suggestion right next to the picture of the chip with the dip on it.\u00a0 Just in case someone doesn’t understand.”<\/p>\n

Oh, nothing worse than the misunderstood Dip Container Lid.\u00a0 Travesty.\u00a0 Complete Travesty.<\/p>\n

Which brings me to this.\u00a0 Tonight was absolutely great, and happy, and fun.\u00a0 But some parts of life aren’t so easy.\u00a0 Some can be downright difficult, ambiguous, or even complicated.<\/p>\n

At those times… wouldn’t it be great if our “Life Instructions” were printed clearly on the lid of things.\u00a0 Our Serving Suggestions.\u00a0 Those little clues about what we are supposed to do, or say, or think.\u00a0 Yep.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, life can feel a bit perplexing, and demanding.\u00a0 At those times, I feel like I need a good Serving Suggestion.\u00a0\u00a0 At those times when I am either feeling like a Dip… or dealing with a Dip.<\/p>\n

But tonight… we didn’t need a Serving Suggestion.\u00a0 We had each other.<\/p>\n
