When I was a kid, I loved to watch the Saturday Morning Cartoons.\u00a0 Oh my word.<\/p>\n

First and foremost, we were off school.\u00a0 Sure, we had to do a load of chores on Saturday… but there were NO nuns at our house.\u00a0 And that was a good thing… I don’t care if I did have to scrub toilets.<\/p>\n

Anyway… back to the Toons.\u00a0 It was all about the atmosphere.\u00a0 Another thing that was great…. above and beyond the NO NUN Policy at our house… .. was breakfast.\u00a0 No fried eggs, fried bologna, and toast on Saturday Morning.\u00a0 This was Pancake Day… or Waffle Day… or French Toast Day.\u00a0 And I would ALWAYS be psyched.\u00a0 Six days of perfectly wonderful breakfasts… with the chicken eggs.\u00a0 But on Saturday… there was SUGAR.<\/p>\n

I think the Waffles were my favorite.\u00a0 Loaded with butter and powdered sugar.\u00a0 Yowza… sugar ’em up and put ’em to work.\u00a0 Mom and Dad were pretty smart.<\/p>\n

ANYWAY…. back to the TOONS.\u00a0 I had my favorites, that is for sure.\u00a0\u00a0 But the Woody Woodpecker Show was way down on my list.\u00a0 That little dude annoyed the heck out of me… all the way from the theme song… to his annoying little laugh.<\/p>\n

Which brings me to this.\u00a0 It is funny how we can change.\u00a0 Oh sure… sometimes we stay very much the same.\u00a0 But there are other times in life when we have the capability to transform.\u00a0 And we do.<\/p>\n

Now while this may seem inconsequential… I used to loathe woodpeckers… because of this dang cartoon.\u00a0 BUT… it wasn’t until I got to KNOW a REAL woodpecker…. that I really gained a complete appreciation for them.\u00a0 I love a good woodpecker now.<\/p>\n

And so it goes with life.\u00a0 We may THINK we know something or someone.\u00a0 And we may not like it.\u00a0 But once we give it a chance… if we get past the cover of that book… we have the capacity to change.\u00a0\u00a0 We may end up actually liking the very thing we once did not.<\/p>\n

Like a triple woodpecker visit… in one day.\u00a0 Now THAT is a woodpecker song.<\/p>\n
