Oh, to spread your wings and fly.<\/p>\n

IF….. one has wings, that is.\u00a0 And if you don’t possess them on your own right… what is the next best thing?\u00a0 Well… to make some of your very own.<\/p>\n

Who could do it better than the Wright Brothers?\u00a0 Apparently, no one.\u00a0 They were the first to actually make it work.\u00a0 But plenty of others tried before them.\u00a0 Take for instance, Leonardo Da Vinci.\u00a0 WAY before Orville and Wilbur.<\/p>\n

Da Vinci is one of my favorite people in all of history.\u00a0\u00a0 This guy was some kind of a human wonder boy.\u00a0 Honest to goodness…. I bet he wore a red cape to go with his little beret.<\/p>\n

Leonardo da Vinci was Italian.\u00a0 Concisely, he was born in Vinci, Florence, Italy.\u00a0 His profession, is mainly referred to as “Painter.\u00a0 Scientist.\u00a0 Visionary.”
\nI love that last one.\u00a0 “Hey.\u00a0 Polly.\u00a0\u00a0 What do you do for a living?”\u00a0 “Well…. I am a Visionary.”\u00a0\u00a0 If only.<\/p>\n

Anyway, back to Leo.\u00a0 He was many things in fact.\u00a0 A painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer.<\/p>\n

Many consider him to be the greatest painter of all time.\u00a0 He was a “LOT” of great things… of all time.<\/p>\n

This guy was teeming with ideas.\u00a0 A gazillion of them.\u00a0 He conceptualized flying machines, a tank, concentrated solar power, an adding machine, the double hull, and a theory of plate tectonics….. just to name a few.<\/p>\n

And, on this date in 1496,\u00a0 da Vinci unsuccessfully tested a flying machine.\u00a0 Maybe.<\/p>\n

He was somewhat obsessed with flying and conceptualized several different machines…. during his years.\u00a0 His designs on paper, were brilliant.\u00a0 Yet…. they never worked once they were constructed.<\/p>\n

But here is the deal.\u00a0 It has been theorized that da Vinci may have sabotaged his OWN flying machine\u2019s design in the hopes that it would fail.<\/p>\n

Among all his other magnificent talents, Leonardo was\u00a0 a pacifist.\u00a0 He often\u00a0 spoke out against the possibility that his ideas and inventions might be used for military purposes.\u00a0 The flying machine was at the top of this list.<\/p>\n

So low and behold they never worked.\u00a0 I have a sneaky feeling that theory is true about da Vinci canceling his own flights.\u00a0 He could see the bigger picture.\u00a0 He put aside his own gains, in order to help the greater good.<\/p>\n

None of his flying machines in war. No way.\u00a0 No how.<\/p>\n

I think we all have these same life decisions to make.\u00a0 Maybe we aren’t deciding things on such a grand scale, but we can make good decisions each day.\u00a0 We can make assurances to be good to people. We can choose to be kind, and caring, and compassionate.\u00a0 We can deliberately decide to make a difference to someone each day.<\/p>\n

This day.<\/p>\n

And that…. I THINK….\u00a0 is spreading your wings and flying.<\/p>\n
