{"id":2596,"date":"2014-12-27T23:13:01","date_gmt":"2014-12-28T04:13:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/?p=2596"},"modified":"2014-12-27T23:52:06","modified_gmt":"2014-12-28T04:52:06","slug":"doog-spelled-backward-is-good","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/?p=2596","title":{"rendered":"Doog spelled backward is good."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/francesgirl.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2597\" src=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/francesgirl.jpg\" alt=\"francesgirl\" width=\"800\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/francesgirl.jpg 800w, https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/francesgirl-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Every time I look at Frances, I am reminded of all the good in the world.\u00a0 This is the absolute truth.<\/p>\n<p>She is the quintessential good dog.\u00a0 Again, I kid you not.<\/p>\n<p>For those of you who do not know Frances very well&#8230;. she came to us in 2005.\u00a0 She showed up at Bullen Ultrasonics, and Mary called me to come get her from the Plant.\u00a0 I did.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, we tried to find her rightful owners.\u00a0 And when that failed, we tried to find her any owners.\u00a0 We came close, but it was a series of &#8220;high hopes&#8221; and subsequent &#8220;let downs.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 This was all coming during a very hard emotional time in my life.\u00a0 Finally, and thankfully, we decided to keep her.<\/p>\n<p>We did not want another dog of this size.\u00a0 We certainly did not want a black, dog of this size.\u00a0 But that is what the Universe delivered.\u00a0 So we accepted.<br \/>\nBut the Universe decided to deliver more.<\/p>\n<p>When I took her to her first Vet appointment, the good doctor informed us that the new dog in the family was about 2 years old&#8230;. and very pregnant.\u00a0 And&#8230; a couple of weeks later&#8230; we had 13 puppies.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We found good homes for all 13.\u00a0 A big shout out tonight to all of them&#8230; from Dashe, to Eddie, to Rudy the Runt.<\/p>\n<p>But back to Frances.\u00a0\u00a0 She truly is the epitome of friendship.\u00a0 She is kind, compassionate, funny, completely dedicated, fiercely loyal, well-mannered, and highly protective.\u00a0 She is a giver and a watcher.<\/p>\n<p>It is in this complete package, that such a lesson is learned.\u00a0 On the outside&#8230; she was everything we did not THINK we wanted in a dog.\u00a0 On the inside&#8230;. she is everything we could ever have hoped for in the truest of friends.<\/p>\n<p>In our years, we have had many canine pals.\u00a0 But Frances is by far the best of the best.<\/p>\n<p>When the Universe opens up and gives me a gift&#8230; I hope I am always smart enough, open enough, and willing enough&#8230; to accept it.<\/p>\n<p>Frances taught\u00a0 me this.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give.\u00a0 &#8212;\u00a0 George MacDonald<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift.\u00a0 &#8212;\u00a0 Steve Prefontaine<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every time I look at Frances, I am reminded of all the good in the world.\u00a0 This is the absolute truth.
