{"id":2435,"date":"2014-12-05T23:05:48","date_gmt":"2014-12-06T04:05:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/?p=2435"},"modified":"2014-12-05T23:47:08","modified_gmt":"2014-12-06T04:47:08","slug":"the-size-of-elves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/?p=2435","title":{"rendered":"The size of Elves&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/thekids.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2437\" src=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/thekids.jpg\" alt=\"thekids\" width=\"700\" height=\"742\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/thekids.jpg 700w, https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/thekids-283x300.jpg 283w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What the heck do you get when you put 150 First Graders up on a stage&#8230;. all at once&#8230;. in little felt hats and vests&#8230; to sing Christmas Carols?<\/p>\n<p>You get about the cutest thing ever to grace the whole entire planet.\u00a0 Oh my goodness.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight we went to see the Hollingsworth East First Graders perform their Holiday Concert, and it was too sweet for words.\u00a0 I should not even try to write about it.<\/p>\n<p>Except that I can&#8217;t help BUT to write about it.<\/p>\n<p>You see&#8230;.this performance brought so much joy, to a whole lot of people, in one big whopping dose.\u00a0 Those kids sang, they danced, they motioned&#8230;. and of course they fidgeted, wiggled, and scuffled.\u00a0\u00a0 But, their little voices were filled with a measure of magic, I&#8217;ll tell you.\u00a0 It was heartfelt, and innocent, and&#8230;.. absolutely beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>The kids came in all shapes and sizes, and their performances varied by great degrees.\u00a0 In one row was an extroverted &#8220;I-am-going-to-be-the-next-American-Idol&#8221;&#8230;. and in the next row&#8230;. a shy &#8220;I&#8217;d-rather-be-home-watching-Sponge-Bob&#8221; kind-of-kid.\u00a0 But no matter their style&#8230; or lack there of, they brought their own special contribution to the charm of this concert.<\/p>\n<p>A rich diversity of voices, and personalities, all joined together in one harmonious group.\u00a0 A wonderful thing.<\/p>\n<p>It was happiness.\u00a0 It was good.\u00a0 And I can count&#8230; yet another splendid blessing in my life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>When I sing, trouble can sit right on my shoulder and I don&#8217;t even notice.\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 Sarah Vaughan<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>If I&#8217;m going to sing like someone else, then I don&#8217;t need to sing at all.\u00a0 &#8211; Billie Holiday<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What the heck do you get when you put 150 First Graders up on a stage&#8230;. all at once&#8230;. in little felt hats and vests&#8230; to sing Christmas Carols?
