Goldilocks was one tough customer, I’ll tell you that much right now.
\nBut you know, when you consider it….. she was a real criminal.\u00a0 Plain and simple.<\/p>\n

I mean seriously.\u00a0 If you break down the story, GL was guilty of trespassing, breaking and entering, and possession of stolen articles.\u00a0 She also fled from the scene of a crime.\u00a0 All and all, she could have served 14 to 25 years, depending on the judge.<\/p>\n

That would have been bad.\u00a0 Let’s say she was 9 or 10 as she entered the penal system.\u00a0 At best, she would have probably been released from prison at age 20 or so… if she behaved well and made parole.<\/p>\n

My guess is, by the time she got out, she would have been a hardened criminal.\u00a0 Lots of ink and dreadlocks.\u00a0 Her nickname would have been “Goldy Lock Me Up.”\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Then we’d have a heck of a Fairy Tale on our hands, wouldn’t we?<\/p>\n

But back to the story as it was written.\u00a0 She was one tough customer.\u00a0 No ifs, ands, or buts.\u00a0\u00a0 This chair was too hard, this one too soft.\u00a0 Oh for crying out loud Goldy.\u00a0 You are breaking and entering.\u00a0 Just sit down any old place.<\/p>\n

And the whole porridge thing.\u00a0 Here is a big hole in the story.\u00a0\u00a0 That oatmeal came out of the same pot.\u00a0 So how did one get very, very hot…. and the next very, very cold… and the next one just right?\u00a0 Even still….\u00a0 Goldilocks was as finicky as they come.<\/p>\n

Off to bed.\u00a0 Same deal as the chairs.\u00a0 But she finally just dozes off, right in the midst of ripping this place off.\u00a0 Not your smartest criminal.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And then she ran out of there like a scared little girl when the Bears came home.\u00a0 (Well…. maybe she was a scared little girl.)\u00a0 Nonetheless.<\/p>\n

What I want to know is…. WHERE were her parents in all of this?\u00a0 What the heck were Mr. & Mrs. Goldilocks doing that they let their small child amble through the deep dark forest on her own?\u00a0 Pitiful.<\/p>\n

So… as we revisit this childhood saga of old…. what the heck was the moral of the story?\u00a0 Honest to goodness?\u00a0 Steal and Run?\u00a0 Take what isn’t yours?<\/p>\n

I guess if we could learn anything, it would be from the Bears.\u00a0\u00a0 Three Grizzlies.\u00a0 They could have easily “taken care” of Goldilocks right then and there.\u00a0 But they saw she was afraid, and vulnerable.\u00a0 So they let her go… even though she had committed several offenses against them.\u00a0 They were kind and forgiving Bears, who made great porridge.\u00a0 They probably figured Goldy needed to eat more than they did.\u00a0 Those benevolent, compassionate Bears.<\/p>\n

Yes.\u00a0 We should learn from their example.\u00a0 Kindness and Altruism.\u00a0 Those were three good Bears.<\/p>\n

Annnnnnddddd…… Next week… The Gingerbread Man.\u00a0 Now that one will be sure to keep you up nights.\u00a0 Run, run, as fast as you can.\u00a0 Believe me… it is not a story about getting fit.<\/p>\n
