Today, I was reflecting on many different things, and I was pretty deep in thought.\u00a0 And out of the clear blue, our not-so-recent trip to Europe came to mind.\u00a0 Specifically, St. Petersburg, Russia.<\/p>\n

I was thinking about our first day there.\u00a0 We started very early, like around 4:30 or 5:00 a.m.\u00a0 We had to be through Customs \/ Immigration by 7 a.m. to meet up with our Russian Tour Guide.<\/p>\n

The day was a complete whirlwind.\u00a0 We tromped all over St. Petersburg on that chilly, rainy day.\u00a0 Non-stop.<\/p>\n

Our final activity for the day was a Traditional Russian Show at the Town Square Theater.\u00a0 It started off so vibrant and colorful and dazzling.\u00a0 Dozens of people twirling, and singing, and dancing, with all their might.\u00a0\u00a0 But ….. intermingled with the energetic dancing, were military types singing very long, drawn out ballads…. in Russian….\u00a0 with a sprinkle of depression mixed in.<\/p>\n

At Intermission, one of our group of four suggested the possibility of bailing.\u00a0 In a heartbeat, we bailed.\u00a0 It was 10 p.m. at night, and getting back on our big boat, and falling asleep, sounded like a much better idea than listening to another ballad.<\/p>\n

BUT.\u00a0 Today it hit me… as I was in deep in thought.\u00a0 “I wonder what we missed.\u00a0 What if we missed something spectacular?\u00a0 I will never know.”<\/p>\n

And when that thought hit me, I started to get a little sad… and a little Russian-Ballad-Depressed.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless…. hope sprung.\u00a0 Maybe we did miss something grand.\u00a0 But no matter where we are, or what we are doing ….. there are a million, billion, spectacular things happening simultaneously…. all over the world.\u00a0 At any given moment…. at any given time.\u00a0\u00a0 And we can’t\u00a0 possible be a part of all of them… or even a tiny bit of them.<\/p>\n

No.<\/p>\n

But what we can be… is a big part of the spectacular NOW.\u00a0 Where ever that “now” may be for us.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Right here.\u00a0 Right at this moment.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We should take notice of the spectacular now.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Because it is.<\/p>\n

We woke up this morning.\u00a0 We are fortunate to be alive.\u00a0 We have been given the precious and magnificent gift of human life.\u00a0 We should use it to be better people.\u00a0 It is such a good and wondrous thing to have the spectacular …… right here in our midst.<\/p>\n

Sing it and dance it… with all your might.<\/p>\n
