Tonight, we went to a party.\u00a0 On a farm.\u00a0 Our good friends’ farm.<\/p>\n

I saw lots of old friends.\u00a0 Not only are they old, but we have been friends for decades.\u00a0 Decades.\u00a0 Old friends in more than one facet.<\/p>\n

This can be a mixed bag…. at times.\u00a0 But tonight, it was truly good to spend time with most all of them.<\/p>\n

I can tell you this much.\u00a0 Our parties sure have changed over the past 25 or 30 years.\u00a0 There is just as much party in the party…. but now it is more about trading eyeglasses…. rather than passing around shot glasses.<\/p>\n

Years ago… things really started to get rolling around 10 or 11 p.m.\u00a0 And now… most of us are home in our jammy pants by that point.<\/p>\n

But it was a good night, overall.<\/p>\n

Of course…. another one of the highlights, besides the friends, were their dogs.<\/p>\n

Sometimes… I am sure I can speak dog.<\/p>\n

A few hours ago…. I met this dog named Chance.
\nI am pretty sure he was saying….
\n“Lady. For the love of peat, will you put that camera down, and get my head out of this thing?”<\/p>\n

Yes, indeed.\u00a0 It seems there are times when it is easier for me to comprehend what a dog is thinking, than it is to understand what some of those old friends are thinking.<\/p>\n

But I guess friends change.\u00a0 People change.\u00a0 Time changes.\u00a0 As I mentioned, it can be a mixed bag.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Some good, some bad.<\/p>\n

I simply know that I am glad for all the good times we have shared in the past.\u00a0 Those days are long gone.\u00a0 Now the present time is here for us to be “here” in a different way than we have been before.\u00a0 Our times have changed.<\/p>\n

I guess… when it comes right down to it… ….perhaps….\u00a0 just because your head gets wedged between two metal bars… doesn’t mean you have to keep it there.<\/p>\n
