\"ducky\"<\/a> \"meducky\"<\/a><\/p>\n

From the time she was very young, Polly knew that there wasn’t going to be a duck she didn’t like.<\/p>\n

Polly, Friend of the Ducks.<\/p>\n

Most of the other kids in the neighborhood pretended to be Batman, or Superman, or even Hercules, when they played Super Hero Games.<\/p>\n

But Polly insisted on being on “Friend of the Ducks.”\u00a0 She wore a mask when they played.\u00a0 But no cape.\u00a0 Absolutely no capes.\u00a0 The reasons were clear.<\/p>\n

Childhood turned into years passed.<\/p>\n

Later in life….\u00a0 she always had an inkling, an itch, an intuition.\u00a0 But she could never quite put her finger on it.\u00a0 But Polly knew there was something more.\u00a0 Something much bigger.\u00a0 A purpose.<\/p>\n

Then one day, by Culdufindit Lake, it all came rushing back to her.\u00a0 She saw Alvin.\u00a0 Sitting on the bank.<\/p>\n

“Al?\u00a0 That you?”<\/span><\/em>
\n “It’s me Pol.\u00a0 I’ve been waiting for you to come back.\u00a0 I missed you.”<\/span><\/em>
\n “I missed you too Al.\u00a0 I couldn’t remember you.\u00a0 I grew older and I forgot.\u00a0 I’m sorry. Oh Alvin.\u00a0 I’ve missed you so much.\u00a0 I’m ready to wear my wings again.\u00a0 Polly, Friend of the Ducks.\u00a0 I remember it all now.\u00a0 How I want to be the bird who can swim…and FLY.”<\/span><\/em>
\n “That’s my girl.\u00a0 And so you will.”<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

They sat quietly on the bank for the rest of that Thursday afternoon.\u00a0 They shared a bag of cracked corn.\u00a0 They didn’t care.\u00a0 They had each other, and Polly had her wings back.<\/p>\n

And her waddle too.<\/p>\n

As it turns out…. Polly does, indeed…. want a quacker…. for all her life.<\/p>\n
